It is a sweet moment to see John singing with Freddie. They bond in the songs either wrote/shared credit writing. As another commenter wrote, they shared similar musical tastes. In a funky dance tune video "Back Chat" from Hot Space (an album that did not do well then but some of us have a fondness for now because it was Freddie-John centric) you can see a moment of full blown admiration from John watching Freddie. Like I said, just - sweet.

The Mott tour was in 74 after the release of the second LP. You must have been darn lucky cause they had to drop out after just 4 shows (May got sick). Aerosmith jumped in to replace them. Yeah, my memory is getting fuzzy too. Still have the stub. Oh and Mott blew them AWAY!

@@robertorolfo I agree, Queen eclipsed Mott, but not the night I saw them. And Queen was terrific, don't get me wrong. Both Queen and A-smith went on to stardom after Mott University. Coincidence?

Even Freddie said that it took all four of them to make the Queen sound. He was being asked about his solo album, etc. The interviewer made it sound like Freddie was the reason they were successful and in Freddie fashion he was annoyed and said it took all four of them. Even those close to Freddie said despite what non Queen things Freddie did that he was lost without his bandmates.

That Guy on The Street I'm not lying, and yes maybe you can call it luck, but many Queen fans met Freddie or other members of the band. I met Mary after Freddie's death, I was in the garden at Freddie's house in London, been there a few times with other Queen fans. I'm born in 1958, grew up with music from the 70's. I was also lucky to see 12 Queen concerts. Greetings from Holland !

allinyoure name I met Freddie in Holland, after a concert in Leiden, it was a short Hi and great to see you. Queen always ended a concert with God save the Queen, that song wasn't played life, there stould this huge tape recorder on stage and the band said goodbye, bowed to the puplic and walked away from the stage. (then that song started) Me and some friends knew that Freddie kinda silently escaped the crowd by stepping in to the limousine at the back of the theatre, I was there before the song ,God save the Queen, ended. Greetings from Holland my friend.

Every member of Queen had such great stage presence and sex appeal that there was no way they wouldn't be noticed. Their name could have been "King" just as easily, but it was the members themselves, Freddie, Brian, John, and Roger. They had the drive to become great, and still today, their music plays and is noticed by the next generation. Just as devastating as it was to lose Freddie, the same goes for the others. It could have been any of them that passed away young, and the world would still be mourning their loss. Each one of them are individuals, but together "they are QUEEN", no replacement would ever match the original.
