Interested in a system like this or a smaller/bigger system? Shoot me an email: rvwithtimmy@gmail.com, we can discuss about it.
This 3 part video series, I will introduce the electrical system of our 2000 Monaco Windsor Motorhome. I have done extensive modes on almost every part of the electrical system including DC and AC part. Our system consists of 15kWh of lithium battery @ 24V (620Ah), 6kVA of inverter @ 120/240V, and 3800W of solar panels. This self-sustained system power absolutely everything inside and outside of our coach including water heater, 2x rooftop ACs, all the lights and everythin else we need. On normal spring and fall California days, we will have lots of excess power even we heat our water all day. However, on hot summer days which we have to use our ACs extensively, and on winter days, the solar power still will fall short. Luckily, we still have our Onan 7.5kW diesel generator that is always ready to power everything and charge the battery.
Overall, there are a lot of things I can improve if I were to do it again (eg, increase even more inverter power). But though from the mountains to the forests, from the desserts to the cities, they have served us well! Those Victron inverters, chargers and solar controller are really high quality, I will choose them again all day everyday (in fact, I did choose them again, will show that in future videos).
