This is my favorite performance of Radio Ga Ga live!! You’ve got to check out Queen’s full 20 min performance. Brian May marveled years later. “The rest of us played okay, but Freddie was out there and took it to another level.” Elton John backstage crowed “You bastards, you stole the show!” Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) later said “If you really feel like that barrier is gone, you become Freddie Mercury. I consider him the greatest frontman of all time.”

I love the message of this song and this show was outstanding. Yes you should do the whole set from Live Aid because it was set up to have a certain flow that you lose when you just take a song out of the context of the show. The energy at this performance was incredible. You will feel like you are actually there. Thank you. This is the old Wembley stadium which is a soccer stadium. Soccer stadiums are bigger than football stadiums as a rule. There were somewhere between 72,000 and 80, 000 people at this concert depending on which tally you believe. Bob Geldorf, who put this whole concert together, said 80,000 but capacity is 72,000. Someone who worked there said that if the people on the field were standing that it could hold 80, 000 and another said no, only 72,000 but either way, the stadium was fully packed. And YES, Lady GaGa took her name from this song. She is a huge Queen fan and has actually performed with them in the more recent years since Freddie's passing.

I'll be back to finish what I have to say, (I'm super tired after working late!🤷♀️) Anywhoo, on the part about Freddie and his "crowd control".... After this Live Aid performance, a reporter very aptly wrote "Freddie had a microphone in one hand, and the WORLD in the other".... FACTS!!!👊💞 Anyway, this was billed as the "Global Jukebox" and was held in Philadelphia and Wembley Stadium in England SIMULTANEOUSLY and went on for 16+ hours straight! Many great artists and groups played a 20min set each (that's all they were allowed!😉).....including Led Zeppelin with Phil Collins on drums. The purpose behind it was to raise money for the relief of famine stricken people in Ethiopia. Prince Charles and Princess Diana officially opened Live Aid! It broadcast LIVE via satellite, to over 150 nations with a reported audience of 1.9 Billion worldwide!! It was incredible!! (I was only 14 then so... it was a big deal for me for sure!!) Freddie and Queen literally stole the show that day and you'll see, and understand why Queen's 20 min set is regarded as the best Live performance of all time.... to this day!!! Freddie was special!! Thankfully, he will live on forever through his music!! Fun fact: Queen is my 2nd favorite band of all time, NO joke! (Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam being the other 2 in my top 3 all-time list of course!!🤗😁). So thrilled you did this and hell YES.....DO Queen's ENTIRE LIVE AID SET!!!! Seeing it in its entirety will help you to understand who Freddie and Queen were and STILL are to many!! Thanks for this one Biz, and..... MORE QUEEN PLEASE!!!🤗😎 EDIT: HOLY CRAP YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do the official video for "BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY"!!!!!! Fair warning though.... my comment on that will be LONG! lol!! ;) NEXT UP FOR QUEEN (other than their FULL Live Aid set! lol!!): My vote is "CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE". Freddy wrote it in ten minutes (in the bathtub!). Super fun song, and do the official video if you can please. You might wanna just settle in..... cuz Queen has a catalogue that is just as worthy (but different) as Led Zeppelin IMO, so you may be starting another catalogue dive!! It'll be one hell of a ride if you do SOOOOO Buckle up!!!

They're not only great and super fun.... but have a wider range stylistically then other groups from that Era. You may just find it fascinating.🤷♀️ Just my thoughts!🤗 Peace Biz...😎

This was all done at Wembley stadium. I remember watching this in a pub not far from their. 👍 Great reaction from you.
I highly recommend you do the entire 20 min Queen Live Aid set at least for yourself if not for us. It really is the best live rock performance ever and something everyone should in its entirety at least once in their life. The vibe is different when you watch the entire set. It gives you the feeling of what it must have been like to be there and also what it took for the band to be able to perform that set at that level, hit after hit. This was at Wembley Stadium in London with a crowd of 72k, and was broadcast live and also tape-delay to 1.5 billion all around the world. It was a huge all day charity event with an all-star line-up but Queen stole the show. It is definitely a must watch event.

Don't take too much of the film as true by the way. Freddie ever thought his album was $hit, he never fired John Reid, he never walked out on the band, in fact they were touring from 1984 to May of 1985.. then did Live Aid. He never had to beg the band to take him back. He found out he had AIDS in April 1987. All the band partied, where drugs were involved. Not just Freddie. All of the above added for Hollywood purposes. Thank you.

HEY HON... Since you posted your recent reaction to "We Will Rock You", I've been watching the rest of your older Queen reactions... So here I am! You DEFINITELY SHOULD do a reaction for Queen's entire 20-minute Live Aid set, all-in-one-piece! (And FYI, there's ALSO a separate ENCORE that Freddie Mercury did during Live Aid's evening closing numbers. If you do a YT search: "Queen Live Aid Extended"... there's a version that includes the encore in it.)

Btw, Queen & their technicians were able correct the voice delay that happens to audience members if located in the back of the stadium. So, with the correction if you were located in the back you heard Freddie & Queen exactly at the same time as the audience located near the front!! Amazing forethought by Queen (It was probably Freddie’s idea) 🤔💡

Yes Lady GaGa was a big fan of Queen she really loves Freddie Mercury. The movie is a hit and miss like: Queen never broke up & the woman Mary never left his side when he came out to her, she stayed with him. Plus she’s the only one that knows where he’s body is they loved each other

Radio Ga Ga was released the previous year for their works album. They had just finished their works tour a few weeks earlier Rogers first single and it reached no 2 uk He hadn't planned for it to be an audience participation song but it ended up as one! Cant remember his name but a guy involved with it accidently? Caused a two clap effect and it evolved from there Not said directly but implied Freddie influenced the audience participation. Richards their producer said Freddie wanted it to be like the olympics, everyone behind/supporting, united The press took it as something very negative! But they always twisted what they did unfortunatly Yes Lady Ga Ga took her name from this The official video, they invited fans to be involved I don't think it was his intention but Roger was against their previous album hot space and so were a lot of fans as it was more funk/dance music ( claimed to be a disco album but there arent many 'disco' songs on it) So I like the line in here ' our music changes through the years...' feels like hes accepting it as a positive even if it didn't have the same success Also interesting that its talking about videos taking over from radio. Bo Rap had the first promotional video!

Do we want you to react to Queen’s entire LiveAid set? That’s a rhetorical question, right? Cuz….of course, we do! Btw, it’s maybe a good thing that you don’t recall everything from the movie ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ cuz as enjoyable as that movie is-and it is-it has a lot of factual inaccuracies. Also, that LiveAid performance was at the old Wembley Stadium (has since been torn down and replaced) where many soccer matches, concerts, and other events were held. I think there were about 70,000 people at Wembley for LiveAid but it was telecast and was watched by over a billion people live! So it was a good time for any band performing there to have an awesome set, but Queen definitely stole the show. I wasn’t at Wembley but I watched it on tv that day.
