I think they're very good at calculating whether their attack is fast enough to survive the weaknesses they've created, and that's the main reason the top 20 players are able to get away with it more often than their lower-rated compatriots.
@GeraldM_inNC2 жыл бұрын
@@21abhinavpatel Well put! That's true too of many other elements of their strategy. As you say, they calculate precisely how many moves it will take for the attack to succeed, and whether their opponent can overcome their defense in fewer moves than that. The rest of us can't make such a sophisticated calculation. I've lost many games because I overestimated by a move or two the speed of my attack or the slowness of my opponent's attack.

I am completely new to Chess and I have been watching your videos for a while now, but I have learned a few things that I see in almost every chess game. Always keep your king behind pawns, never get a check from a knight as you can’t block it with anything, don’t let the opponent’s pawn cross midline, avoid the opponent’s two knights attacking together, and have some space for the king to move.
@reinpost2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, those are all things to bear in mind. Once enough material is off the board, the king can advance to attack.

The point where a mistake or blunder happens in these games should be pointed out in my opinion. Otherwise it's really difficult to make out where exactly the mistake occurred.
@GeraldM_inNC2 жыл бұрын
Agadmator usually does precisely that. In this case, I don't believe there was a blunder. It's just that pushing the pawns defending your king only works for the very top players. You can't really call it a blunder, because they do it and win. For the rest of us, just don't do it!
@smolytchannel50622 жыл бұрын
@@GeraldM_inNC probably the clearest example of a massive blunder I've seen in high level games, i mean it loses a whole piece. It's just a basic principle not to push pawns defending the king when there are not one but 2 monster bishops and a queen scoping it
@kunalsingh44182 жыл бұрын
@@smolytchannel5062 yeah I can't even tell what he calculated wrong, the position looked so hopeless from the moment he weakened the king side cause of the white bishops as well as white controlling the centre.

Agadmator mentioned that on move 21. ... Qd6 was required. He actually played 21. ... Bc8. That was the beginning of the end. Here is some of Stockfish's evaluation. 13. ... Na5 +0.5 14. ... Bh6 +0.94 17. ... Rce8 +0.96 18. ... f5 +1.83 21. ... Bc8 +3.54 You can see that f5 was pretty bad but then Bc8 was losing.

Not to take away from his brilliancy, but it seemed very intuitive that white would be activating the bishop pair from hell. I completely understand, 100%, why chess masters resign before being checkmated. But how many times throughout history has a master resigned early when the position could have actually been saved? And I would also be curious to know how many times two masters saw different lines, yet one still resigned, perhaps mistaking the other player's true intentions. Has a player ever resigned when their opponent simply made what they thought was a good move, but didn't know that mate was inevitable?
