Queen is Legendary and always will be..Amazing chemistry, totally focused, very harmonized, and a lot of energy. Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, best musicians by far. Don't forget Roger's backing vocals while playing the drums. Concerts are not like that today. No lip syncing whatsoever. Pure talent. ❤️🔥

My favorite live Queen performance! Thank you! BTW, the beer usually = just honey/lemon tea /water... Sometimes a sip of beer, yes but he had to take care of his instrument! Freddie loved Aretha Franklin and wrote this with her in mind. Other great songs to react to: Save Me from this same Montreal concert '81; Now I'm Here LIVE @ Wembley '86... just far too many to list. You can never go wrong with any Queen performance... (There was a film crew there shooting this concert. It was over 2 nights in Montreal... They were really pissing the band off *especially Freddie* so on one of the nights he wore the white pants and on another night he switched into these tiny white shorts and no shirt {the song you can see that is Another One Bites the Dust}.. JUST TO MESS WITH THE CONTINUITY because they knew the 2 nights would be spliced together into one film...)

Your face said it all!! I love this performance and this song. Every band member is on point and each showcased in an exceptional way. Brian's guitar solo was perfection, John held a strong and powerful bassline, Roger f-ing ROCKED the vocals while never missing a beat on the drums and Freddie was as wonderful as always. You just can't beat Queen as a live band. The next live Queen vocal and complete band feat you should react to has got to be White Queen live at Odeon, Hammersmith. That one will blow your mind with a 1 minute 45 second screaming instrumental masterpiece between Freddie and Brian. Freddie's vocals on that song are haunting and beyond beautiful.

Love this song & so glad you’re reacting to it! Freddie Mercury is considered the best rock vocalist of all time (not just my opinion). Freddie can sing any & all genres of music including opera!! He wrote this song inspired by Aretha Franklin. The Queen catalog is massive so if you plan to do more Queen let the Queen fans guide you on your journey! Let’s not forget the other band members Brian May recently voted best guitarist of all time. Roger Taylor (drummer, vocals) & John Deacon (bass). All members of Queen have written #1 hit songs and all have been inducted into the Song Writer’s Hall of Fame & Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Queen voted best live rock band in 2020. Amazing geniuses & musicians! From this same concert do DRAGON ATTACK & SAVE ME. Love your reaction!

Not beer. According to his roadie, Peter Hince, most of the cups seen on that piano held hot honey and water with lemon to lubricate his throat. He performed at that level for 2+hours needed to soothe his vocal chords. His roadie would replace the hot drinks as they cooled. That’s why there are so many cups on the piano. He rarely drank beer during a performance. Heineken was a sponsor and the bottle was for advertising.
@nairstudios913 жыл бұрын
That makes a lot more sense

BTW, your reaction was epic! I’m a 78 year old grandma who has loved queen since the 70s and have read extensively about the band and watched many interviews with Queen’s members. There is so much misinformation about them that cheeses me off. Freddie Mercury was a sweet, kind, generous gentleman off stage who earned a degree in graphic arts. He designed and drew the Queen logo. Brian May, lead guitarist, Earned a doctorate in astrophysics, worked with NASA, is an avid 3-D photographer and scientific author. He also wrote a book called, Queen in 3-D, containing 3-D photos and a viewer he designed. (I own a copy). Roger Taylor, the drummer, whom I crush on till today, studied dentistry, and has a biology degree. John Deacon (Deaky) has a degree in electronics and created electronics that enhance the band’s amps and Brian’s guitar. The band was inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame and each member was inducted separately into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Thank you for your wonderful reaction. I hope you venture further down the Queen rabbit hole. You won’t be sorry.

Watch Drago Attack at this same concert. This was Lmost 2 hours of continuous high energy. By the way, most of the drinks were lemon water, tea, tea with honey and lemon, etc for Freddie's throat so he could continue to sooth his throat probkems and provide top notch tones. Early outstandin performances from Live at the Rainbow, in London, 1974 incude: Stone Cold Crazy, Seven Seas of Rhye, Killer Queen, White Queen, Flick of the Wrist, a portion of March of the Black Queen, and in the Lap of the Gods as a closing song. I think you will like their raw energy and talent. Freddie knew th to connect and speak one to one with the audience, from their earliest oerformances.

With show time approaching, towels and drinks for the band’s refreshment on stage would now be strategically placed: water and beer for Fred, beer for Brian and Roger and the Backstage Bar for John, comprising water, beer, soft drinks, wine and whatever spirit or cocktail he fancied at the time: Southern Comfort, vodka or tequila. - Peter Hince (aka Ratty), Fred’s and John’s roadie and head of Queen’s crew.

@leonarae84963 жыл бұрын
Don’t forget the nuts and M and M’s. Ratty was John and Freddie’s roadie, Brian and Roger had their own guys. Isn’t it funny that quiet unassuming Deacy had that whole cocktail bar set up, apparently he could be quite drunk by the end of a show.
