"every member can sing" And every member was inducted into the Songwriters' Hall Of Fame, because every single one of them wrote at least one #1 hit song. Each one of them was extremely talented, and it's rare to have that much talent in one band that actually works together without conflict. And you've hit the nail on the head when it comes to modern pop music. It's why I stick to heavy/alternative genres. They're fundamentally unfriendly for advertisers, so they have no ulterior motives. The worst examples of "selling out" that you can find in metal are like, someone accepting a sponsorship from Ibanez or Fender and being an "exclusive artist" who only plays those instruments... And that's not a big deal, because a lot of people already prefer one name over another without getting paid for it. (Side note: I know a lot of similar themes and raw emotions can be found in rap and many other genres, but rock and metal are my home.)
@TooBlunt2 жыл бұрын

Actually John Deacon, bassist, did not sing. During live shows he would sometimes “sing” but the audio level on the mike was turned down to nearly zero. Despite not singing he was an incredibly gifted musician and song writer. The members of Queen often had arguments and fights but this conflict helped them creatively most of the time. John Deacon even wrote a song called “Back Chat” that address some of the disagreements and tension.

Not only does the drummer sing, the guitarist does too! What you’re seeing is what made Queen so great, four incredible songwriters who knew how to get the most out of their writing and each other, three brilliant singers who could harmonize gorgeously, the one-off wonder of unique guitar sound in Brian May and his faithful homebuilt Red Special, and the greatest rock singer in history, backed by a sonic volcano of a rhythm section. Of course the drummer sings too, sometimes when Fred's voice would start crapping out on him at the end of a tour, Roger would just take over the vocals while drumming! Brian can sing too! "Let Me Live" is a song that they all sing about a third of each. The song was released on the Made In Heaven album 4 years after Freddie died. Towards the end, Fred could only record a few lines at a time, and so they all kicked in vocals a little bit more. Freddie does the first verse, then Roger with his "heavy metal" voice and then Brian with his "hair band" voice. Is it any wonder that when you put them all together, you get pure MAGIC? On Freddie's last day in the studio, they were recording "Mother Love." They got all the way to the last verse, and Freddie said "I just can't do anymore today, I will finish it next time," but he never made it back into the studio. Brian does a beautiful job of singing the last verse, but it's heartbreaking to listen to it. Here is Let Me LIve, so you can hear all their very distinctive voices. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6iwqKd3e9xlgqc

Wow… how amazing was this? It is the greatest performance I have ever seen. Where all four band members are so in sync with each other. It is emotionally moving no words could ever describe. Freddie was our Mozart and tragically we did not realise it when he was alive…. I hope whatever is on the other side he is feeling how much we love absolutely everything about him. He and Queen are the only fabulous people who literally take me out of my crappy life, worries, losses and problems…. I put my headphones on and play this, I am no longer in my living room with a pile of bills, people hassling me by phone, text or messages…..I am in my heaven, mesmerised, captivated and made to believe I am special ♥️ It never gets old and when I see you good people enjoying it as much as me it is truly heart warming. I was a little girl when Queen did the Live Aid concert. I just remember it was something really exciting to look forward to here in England, like a Royal wedding, after Charles marrying Diana… It was that much of an event. Following the release the previous Christmas in 1984 of Band Aids Do They Know It’s Christmas single, which I actually still have. My big brother saved up money from his Saturday job at a butcher’s to buy it for me…. My birthday is the 21st December so it was a combined present along with Wham’s Last Christmas which came out at the same time. Besides Star Wars toys that was my greatest present of all time 😊 Thank you so much for making a lonely lady feel like I am not….. for you are transported to planet Mercury with me for a little while. No auto-tune here, no click-track, no in-ear monitors, no backtracks, no trickery! Just pure unadulterated talent from 4 musicians totally in-tune with each other. Possibly one of the best live performances by anybody, ever!

Love your reaction!! Love Of My Life, and Impromptu at Wembley are great songs also! There are a lot of great bands out there, but most just have a handful of great songs. Queen is one of the very few who have a whole catalogue of amazing songs!

Freddie had a 4 octave range, was a great pianist, wrote this song, and 10 of his group's 17 songs. I love, love how the drums come in at the beginning... and all through the performance! That guitar! I can listen to this live performance again and again. And I do!

Luv this - Freddie KNOWS he nailed it. See a different vibe, another live version of this same song at Milton Keynes. The audience fuels Freddie and at Milton, they send him into overdrive. Sweaty, raw and passionate.

at Milton Keynes, you might also like Play the Game. There's a lot of "hunting for love" in Freddie's songs...

Just watched your Bohemian Rhapsody reaction on another account, (55" screen). A lot of reactions I view have lead me to believe they are false, following hype and sensationalism. Thank you for being genuine. Enjoy your experience as you discover more of Freddy Mercury and Queen. I grew up with this music and the transitions of popular music that lead to Queen, including Phil Colins, David Bowie, The Stones and so many more. Art is art, when it is so fantastic as Queen, it is difficult fault. May it be that Freddy is remembered and appreciated by all generations. Shine on Freddy. Time to watch this reaction on the 55", yes I'll let this 11" screen run on through too. ☺
