@@stevebennett6727 I wouldn't say that. There were some top 10 TdF riders in the race. He certainly proved that Guadu is no match for him and Pogacar. His performance was poor in Paris-Nice (imagine having a poor performance and still finishing on the podium...), this is more true of his actual form. Excerpt from a Lantern Rouge article: "Vingegaard up the Izua did an estimated 7.46 ᵉw/kg for 11 minutes and 17 seconds and became the first rider since Alberto Contador (2009 Verbier) to reach the pink All-Time Top 25 trend-line."

I'm fan of all the riders, but most of all I'm Tadej's fan. Nevertheless I must admit that Jonas's performance on this "vuelta" (Itzulia Basque Country 2023) was in my opinion his best what I've seen so far (except TdF 2023). No WvA, no Primož, no S. Kuss etc. here. He was a pure leader of the team, his tactics was on high level, and the greeting to the TV fans a kilometre before the finish line was just lovely :) Great performance !!!

Yeah, you're sorta right. Both are wrong, but I prefer VingeGUARD myself, as a Dane. I guess people could try for a VingeGORE, but without pronouncing the E at the end, but even then it wouldn't be correct, so who cares? Just call him Jonas, I guess :)

I mean Jonas himself said that was far from his actual form, he just had a bad few days during Paris-Nice and also struggle mentally due to personal reasons. This is Jonas on his way to his best form (yes, he's not there yet...) and Gaudu is no match for him and Pogacar when they arrive at the Tour.

Why do Danish people care so much as to complain about, and correct, people for getting the pronouncation wrong? I don't know if you're Danish, but I'm Danish myself and I get second hand embarrassment every single time. I don't see French, Spanish, German or any other nations get this much into a thing that isn't worth the time and effort in the end.
