I've been listening to Queen for 22 years, but I must admit that creating Top 10 songs by this band is quite a challenge. I make no attempt to hide my A Day at the Races bias. It's a top fiver all time for me. 10. Long Away: Tough call between this and '39 for my favorite Brian May tune, but the clear, ringing guitars win out. 9. Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy: Extremely charming and fun, and those background vocals are perfect. 8. Spread Your Wings: Melodic piano ballad Queen is my favorite Queen, and this is one of their best. 7. Somebody to Love: I get tired of their hits but never this one. My favorite Brian May guitar solo, and like Joe said, maybe the best backing vocals ever. 6. Seaside Rendezvous: Campy as all hell and I can't get enough. 5. The Millionaire Waltz: I'm a sucker for waltz time, and this has so many brilliant little touches. 4. It's a Hard Life: Love the operatic opening, and the way Freddie sings the title just kills me every time. 3. Fat Bottomed Girls: Like you guys, I don't like their generic rockers, but I love this one. 2. Seven Seas of Rhye: Maybe Freddie's best vocal. This song is like a bolt of energy set to music. 1. You and I: Far from their most popular song, but this one has everything I love about A Day at the Races: Gorgeous melody, powerful vocals, a killer guitar solo, and all those little Queen touches. A perfect song.

You and I This was a tough list to make. So many great tracks. Nothing after 1980 for me. I had Queen's greatest hits years before Wayne's World. I don't listen to radio much, but I always hear Bohemian rhapsody when I do and never change the channel. I always loved Queen but never thought of them as top tier. The movie actually made me love them more and they are easily top 20 for me. Maybe lower top 10. Freddie gets the bulk of the attention, but Brian May is one of the most unique, skilled, and inventive guitarists ever in rock music. I started using sixpence coins as a plectrum, but I don't sound like him.

Hello Sherman. We got 3 in common. (I posted today.) Queen and I go back long before Wayne's World as well. I acknowledge "Bohemian Rhapsody" as a 5/5 stone cold classic, but didn't make my top ten. Doubtless over exposure has something to do with it. "Teo Torriatte" just missed the cut as did "Play the Game".

Joe’s list matches mine the closest, though I would replace Bohemian Rhapsody with Another One Bites the Dust because of the bass and it came out when I was in middle school and going to the skating rink every weekend so there is a nostalgic factor going on there as well. Kramzer is going to hate my list. Two songs he dislikes are in my top 5. Oh well, it's my list. I worked from a pool of 27 songs, listened twice. My top 10: 1. Under Pressure - Great vocals. David Bowie. What else could be no. 1? 2. Keep Yourself Alive - always loved this song 3. Fat Bottomed Girls - It's raunchy, and I love it. 4. Bohemian Rhapsody - My gateway to Queen. I expected it to finish lower due to oversaturation, but it held up. 5. Tie Your Mother Down - The best song on an otherwise terrible album. 6. Killer Queen - There was nothing else like this at the time. But that was cool. 7. Somebody to Love - Great song from a disappointing album. 8. It's Late - Good jam. Love this and the chorus. 21 Under Pressure (HS) amazing important timeless song from two great minds. 20 One Vision (AKOM) ♥️ 19 Killer Queen (SHA) great pop song that's so glam rock too 18 The Fairy Fellers Master Stroke (QII) a fabulous celebration of what makes Queen Queen all in one short masterstroke. 17 Keep Yourself Alive (Q) First track first album first classic song. Very interesting list, gentlemen. Just wanted to point out the double-entendre (or triple if you count the book/films) of Brighton Rock. Most obviously, a simple stick of rock (candy), and the obvious double-entendre of a rock song being set in Brighton (citing places like the promenade in the lyrics). Then, of course, there's the book and the films based on the book. One could also extend it to the expression of someone having something running through them like the writing in a stick of rock (usually something dodgy). TMI?

I've been waiting for these lists, so I could get deeper cuts that I could try out. I've never been a fan of Queen (though I never disliked them). The only album I ever had was The Game, on vinyl, when I was 12. I never even bothered to buy the greatest hits, because I was so sick of the songs from the radio!! I look forward to diving into some of the more obscure tracks you've recommended, so thank you! But before I do that, my favorite Queen song, as of now, is Radio Gaga, and my #2 is Under Pressure (although David Bowie completely steals that song, especially at the end, and he never once sings 'bidi boo bop bop') #3 is Flash. Thats where I am now. I'll reply back if I like any of your tracks.

"Flash" is a bold choice for #3. I used to love the Flash Gordon movie when I was a kid. Watching it now, it's the cheesiest cheesefest ever. About 15 years ago I was out with friends at a busy bar and that song came on, everything else stopped and the whole bar sang along to the entire song. It was amazing. Not many songs can create a moment like that. I'm intrigued about tomorrow's side three.

My top ten: 10.) Bohemian Rhapsody - Earns the right to be on the list for prestige alone. Phenomenal song, but it doesn't impact me like it use to thanks to years and years of listening. 9.) March Of The Black Queen - My favorite song on Queen II. I don't have too much emotional attachment to it, but still a great song. 8.) Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy - It's very coy, very fancy, and very clean. Second favorite song on A Day at the Races. 7.) Under Pressure - Excellent and iconic bass line. Freddy kills it with his "Whyyyyyyy" and David Bowie is also great. 6.) Too Much Love Will Kill You - Love the lyrics. I just love them. Very profound. Favorite song on Made In Heaven. 5.) Killer Queen - Just like Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, very fancy, clean, and precise. Love the lyrics and the guitar solo sounds fantastic. 4.) Don't Stop Me Now - My very first Queen song. I immediately become happy the second I hear this song. That's very special. 3.) The Millionare Waltz - Everything about this song is excellent. May's guitar solo is so simple yet effective and I can't get enough of it. The lyrics "Bring out the charge of the love brigade, there's spring in the air once again" is so good. 2.) The Show Must Go On - So powerful and emotional. This being the last song on the album was an excellent choice. "I'll face it with a grin, I'm never giving in, on with the show" gives me chills every single time. Incredible Incredible Incredible. 1.) No One But You - Simply beautiful. A great tribute to Freddie. Very powerful and very emotional. Brian saying, "There's a face at the window and I ain't never saying goodbye" kills me inside. It's not over-the-top, just simple and beautiful.

1. Under Pressure (HS) - Perfect Song, one of the greatest of all time. 2. Fat Bottomed Girls (Jazz) - Love Freddie's vocals, and the drop D guitar riff. Don't get the hate for this. 3. It's Late (NOTW) - Great deeper cut from NOTW. Killer guitar tone. 4. Bohemian Rhapsody (ANATO) - Objectively, it might be their best, but I've heard it too many times. 5. Spread Your Wings (NOTW) - A lesser known single from NOTW, but also a great power ballad. 6. Somebody to Love (ADATR) - Classic R&B/Soul throwback with Queen's spin on it 7. Keep Yourself Alive (Queen) - Their first single. I dig the flanger on the guitar and the overlapping lines in the vocals. 8. Stone Cold Crazy (SHA) - Has to be one of the fastest, heaviest songs written at that time. Basically invents speed metal. 9. Sheer Heart Attack (NOTW) - Awesome, punky tune that lifts some lyrics to "I Saw Her Standing There" in the first verse. 10. Crazy Little Thing Called Love (The Game) - Great take on a rockabilly song. Not very Queen sounding, but it's terrific nonetheless.
