This song written by John Deacon, who wrote it for and about his wife Veronica Tetzlaff. They got married in 1975 and are still together (аnd they have six children 🫣). In this song, John plays a Wurlitzer electric piano in addition to his bass guitar work.

Freddie designed the Queen Crest, it represents the zodiac signs of the band members.

Montserat Caballe, a very famous & accomplshed opera singer who worked with Freddie, said, from all the singers she has seen, she's never seen anyone who's as good as Freddie when it comes to "selling the song". What she meant is that Freddie was able to not just sing the song correctly, but to give it the right feelings & emotions, phrasing, tone & nuance to sell the song's message to the audience: like with this song, you believe him when he is calling you his best friend. 😀😀😀

Freddie Mercury is a great actor. He lives his songs. Actually, all four of them do, but hi is in front of. I listen to Queen for forty years almost. And now, thanks to youtube and other open sources, I have the period of WATCHING Queen as a theatrical show. Mesmerizing. The more I see and hear, the more I feel a loss. I'm not sure if you made reactions to White Queen (live Odeon 1975) and You Take My Breath Away (live 1975). Breathtakingly emotional, expressive and theatrical.

That guitarist you see at 3:16 is Brain May. The guitar he is playing was built from scratch by his father and him when he was a teen, using wood from table. It's one (just one) of the reasons Queen has such a unique sound.

"That guy's hair" 😲 THAT GUY ??? THAT GUY??? That guy just happens to be Sir Dr. Brian Harold May. Recently Knighted and he holds a PhD in AstroPhysics with a specialization in interplanetary dust. Let's see, oh ya, in his spare time...since oh, I don't know, 1969...he is also a world renowned guitarist who can also expertly play ukulele, piano, and Japanese guitar. He also sings beautifully and has written Top 10 hits like a tiny little ditty called... "We Will Rock You" among others... That guy?? For shame!!! (LOL) I kid you... Brian has been my favorite since 1975!!! He & Roger Taylor ( the drummer) have been playing together, off & on, since 1969.

Showing the logo at this time was prob a decision to state Hey, we are Queen. Listen to us. The logo, drawn by Freddie, is their Zodiac signs (Leo lions for Roger and John both, Cancer Crab for Brian and Virgo fairies for Freddie),plus a phoenix rising, the Q for Queen etc

Having attended Ealy College majoring in graphic design and fashion illustration, Freddie Mercury actually designed Queen's logo, called the 'Queen crest', shortly before the release of the band's first album in 1973. The logo combines the zodiac signs of all four members: two lions for Leo (John Deacon and Roger Taylor), a crab for Cancer (Brian May), and two fairies for Virgo (Freddie Mercury). The lions can be seen embracing a letter Q, while the crab rests on top of the letter with flames rising directly above it. The fairies are situated below a lion. ********* “You’re My Best Friend” was written by the band’s bass player, John Deacon, who has also written their mega-hit “Another One Bites the Dust”. Deacy composed this love song for his new wife, Veronica Tetzlaff, whom he married in January 1975, shortly before the album was recorded. The story is, Queen purchased a Wurlitzer electric piano but Freddie absolutely refused to play it. He loved his grand piano and hated the sound of the electric pianos. So John took the Wurlitzer home to teach himself how to play the piano. John claimed this song just emerged as he was learning to play. He claimed that this song always sounded the best when the electric piano was used but during live performances, Freddie always played his grand piano for this song. ********** During this period of Queen, Freddie painted the fingernails of his left hand black and Brian (the one with the hair) painted his left-hand fingernails white. Years later when Freddie's personal assistant and dresser Allan was asked, his response was, 'Well, because he was right-handed and he couldn't paint it on the other one.' This was during the Glam Rock period of British rock music. Glam rock is a style of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s and was performed by musicians who wore outrageous costumes, makeup, and hairstyles, particularly platform shoes and glitter.
