+TheDarkness Hispanics are people that speak Spanish, especially one of Latin American descent, living in the US. Slaves are people who are the legal property of another person and are forced to obey them. Native Americans are any members of any of the indigenous peoples of North and South America and the Caribbean Islands So basically what they are saying is that shopping malls are being built over the dead bodies of these people, just so that everyone forgets what it was like back then. (That's how interpreted it however, especially because I am from Australia so I could very well be wrong). :)

My friend in my theater class did this poem as a monologue, however when she asked our teacher for approval she said to change the word "rape" in 1 to "her experiences" . One thing I do care about is history, and to compare the hispanics that existed at the same time as the slaves and natives is NOT a very "liberal" thing to do. It reveals the agenda of these people is not to promote a factual argument but to promote a political agenda. I believe that presenting Hispanics in the same category as slaves and natives is deliberate misinformation to promote an anti white-middle-america, as a non american that's the tone I got and sometimes one small bit of misinformation like that is a giveaway, people on the far right do it ll the time.

+J Rton ok fair enough the hispanics came over from Europe to South and Central America.. but they also occupied the area of texas, new mexico and california.. but were driven out by Americans.. and President James Polk incited war with Mexico in 1846 and forced them to surrender. In the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo Mexico had to cede California, New Mexico territory and Texas - the US gained around 1/2 million square miles of territory. Polk and a lot of the southerners wanted to keep pushing for the rest of Mexico however Northern powers in Congress blocked this. Attempts were also made on Nicaragua and Cuba. So in my eyes although the massacres of the Spanish conquistadores are also horrific and just another example of european colonisation, this still by no means justifies American settlers pushing out and killing the Mexicans for the land they had already settled on. Also this is poetry, of course it has an agenda, and being a non-american white girl, i don't feel its promoting an anti-white america. Issues need to be raised like this. With Fox news and all those news channels so often blasting right wing propaganda into peoples ears, personally I think its a very good thing for young kids, boys and girls, to listen to something so blunt like this. People can't learn about their country's history, or how not to behave, if all the sensitive issues are constantly swept under the rug.

1:54 hits hard. I went to a private Christian school growing up and our history book was white washed. We never got past early America and we where taught that even tho Columbus did horrific things oh that’s ok cuz he “founded” America so it’s All forgivable. Whenever there was a school shooting we wouldn’t acknowledge it it would only be and let the families who lost people be ok now let’s go praise jesus and sing worship songs and they never went farther then that. I’m so thankful for my teacher who teaches me right now because he wants to teach us about current events and stuff that other teachers wouldn’t teach us. If there’s a school shooting or anything we take part of class to learn about what happened and to acknowledge who died and what happened. There was so much stuff missing from my history book we spent more time learning about indentured servants then slaves. I was never taught what I am being taught today I was held back from that knowledge because apparently it wasn’t “school appropriate” teach us about how Columbus was a great guy but never spend much time on learning about slavery.

+Nadia Makmak obviously a person does need to pull the trigger, but if guns weren't so accessible it would be much harder to get one or find other means to kill. Guns are less regulated than driving. A teenager who wants a car has to take lessons and pass multiple tests, including a practical one. But any teenager who wants a gun can get one, and thus has the power to kill. Ultimately, the person is doing the killing but the gun allows them to.

Can I? Nope, sorry. Guess I am too annoyed by the victimhood narrative and see not how this change anything. Worse, their complain that they would have learned this behaviour seems to imply that there was an intent to teach them that, which seems to me like paranoid thinking. Don't get me wrong, some of the social issues they mention are a problem, but many points they make are questionable, and sadly they provide no solutions, so it is overall rather useless.

The thrift store one hit hard. I’m the oldest girl in my family, and 99% of my wardrobe is made up of my mom’s old clothes or my older brothers’ really old hand-me-downs. Unfortunately I have much larger breasts, which means I can’t wear half of my mom’s and my brothers’ shirts and finding good bras that actually fit is super expensive. And half the shirts I can wear I always got in trouble for in school because I was “showing too much cleavage” despite the fact that barely any skin was really showing.

Damned smart young women. My daughter is a teacher here in Oklahoma were we live. Oklahoma teachers are paid the lowest per of ANY state. She has been teaching fifth grade for almost five terms I think. Her first round of kids are entering junior high. 12 of 22 students have made it to the national honor society. These young women, life willing will be the teachers and leaders of tomorrow. Would that I could show these fine ladies and my own precious daughter (Courtny McFarland) what they do FING MATTER!!
