Hi, I had an abortion when I was 19 and I am now 62. I think Patricia's testimony has helped me to want to do the Rachel's Vineyard Retreat, even though I feel that I have had healing at various points throughout my life. PRAY, this is what I did while working for an agency for single mom's and we were not allowed to speak to anyone re abortions, either for or against it. One of my clients wanted me to go with her to a Clinic to have an abortion, I started praying from the moment she asked me to go. I was sick to my stomach the while there, as it was, the place was crowded and they told us it was going to be a little while longer so we went for coffee and I could see she was terrified and not so sure of going through with this. The whole time there I PRAYED she wouldn't go through with it...she ended up walking back into the clinic and as soon as he walked in, yelled I can't do this and we left. This was a very shy and meek person, who God gave the strength to do the right thing. After she had her beautiful baby girl and I was able to tell her how I prayed she thanked me over and over again, even years later. Can't help but feel I was born to save this dear little one's life and her mother from making a terrible decision that she would regret for the rest of her life. So PRAY, PRAY, PRAY. Show less

It is not for religious reasons, but logic and consistent ethical & legal principles. Like in all killing (esp legal), there are often emotionally understandable reasons why people do it. Jus like with all the things I have ever done wrong. That doesn't mean I am a victim without responsibility, if I am an adult. There is also no bad outcome from keeping or giving away the baby compared to killing it. Ex Abortionists actually acknowledge that as false - aborting him/her usually is a worse outcome. This is also the same issue for any ethical issue: people will still kill or harm themselves or others, even if it is illegal. The issue is "when should killing be legal? Where do you draw the line? What is your answer?

@Paul Ronco ALSO PLEASE UNDERSTAND that I am not attacking or judging you here, just wanting to be truthful about it. I have dear friends who have Aborted their baby before birth, supported their partner doing it and also almost done it. Like anything else issue, I can be honest & ethical about it even though I can't relate to the person committing the offense, and still have compassion for why someone would do it. Though I feel I can relate & understand most destructive acts that humans do to some degree, even if I don't have the exact same problem. We humans tend to do bad things when we are terrified or overwhelmed and would do anything to avoid it. That is universal.

@Paul Ronco Hello Paul. I dont enjoy your approach to this issue but am pleased you have bought the Roman's 5. 11 to 31 passage to my attention. I'd rather a complete view of this issue than one that just favours my preferences. I dont think this relates to abortion but will research further to better understand the context surrounding this. I've read it over and over but see no abortion or likelihood of such, rather symbolic rituals. Be good to know for sure what this water of bitterness was. Ragwart is a plant that will cause dairy cows to miscarry so perhaps something similar but no mention of such. Holy water is just blessed water (I imagine) so unlikely to cause abortion no matter how much dust or ash is mixed with it. Be interested to know what this "falling away" of the thigh is. You got to give it to old testament authors and even modern judeo christian. They were what they were and it's on record, warts and all. Nobodies pulling inconviniant information.

Thank you for sharing your story and being the voice of the unborn. I have a part of my heart that is reserved for these innocent little beings and I also speak up amongst family and friends whenever I can to whomever wants to hear the truth. I also try to help women who want to keep their babies but can't afford everything for their child.
