In 1992, Queensryche performed on MTV's Unplugged. Though never released to the general public in it's entire form, bits and pieces have been. Della Brown was one of the more memorable performances of the evening.

My ex-wife chose the streets and addiction instead being a mother to her child.. She passed 2 years ago at 38 throwing away her beauty and potential. This song is a masterpiece of that sadness. Raising our child alone i can only share this masterpiece with him And the memory of her brightside . Thank you to Queensryche for this.

Hell yeah, you guys are right. Actually, from 1983-1995 (after PL tour) Queensryche established themselves as a huge band, my best ever line-up and compositions. Five lenght players, Tha Warning till Promised Land, RAge for Oder was the turning pointo to me, when they solidified their musical personality. I´ve cut that period of time to 4 years because of the release of OMC and Empire. Finally they got the deserved recognition, MTY exposure and much more. In the metal world let´s say they were superior than anyone (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica), including on stage. They were part of the cast of Rock In Rio 2 (1991), and this exhibition on MTV was fabulous!

This is my favorite band of all time! I absolutely love Geoff Tate. He has an incrediblely, unique voice...one of the all time greatest! Every time I encountered him on different tours....he was always very kind, genuine and respectful to me. He was surprised and grateful that I have been a fan since 1982. I thought they would be one of the bands that would go down in history as all of the original band members. They would grow old together as friends and retire. I was heartbroken when Chris DeGarmo left but, they managed, branched out, and became more diverse. I feel some of their work has been over-looked by many. I have to say they will never leave my heart or life. I will see them..."Geoff Tate's" Queensryche on January 31st at "The Austin Music Hall". Always a Badass venue - I AM SO HAPPY! Empire was released on this day 8/20/90. It's the 4th full-length studio album by the American heavy metal band Queensrÿche. The album stands, Queensrÿche's most commercially successful release, reaching triple platinum status. The primary single, the power ballad "Silent Lucidity", reached number 1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks and number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Silent Lucidity" was also nominated in 1992 for the Grammy Awards for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. The album won a 1991 Northwest Area Music Award for Best Metal Recording.

Such an awesome song from an excellent CD! I remember buying this CD the 2ND day it was out. I was really busy during that time period and on my way home a good friend at a red light yelled to me while cranking the song"Empire" as I was waiting for the"Walk"signal and he yelled"the new Queensryche"CD was just released"! Unfortunately it was around 9 PM and in my city there was no place to buy the CD at that time so I had to wait until the morning. I remember loving the entire release with so many excellent tracks, but this particular song really stuck out to me. I have always loved this song. What a great performance. It is a shame these guys can't reunite. Watching Jeff play his solo on an acoustic is amazing and watching Geoff nodding his head in happiness at 3:00 and then that massive smile @ 3:05 is heartwarming.
