I had the pleasure of bumping into Tan and Rob once.. I didn't want to draw other people's attention to him as they were just trying to carry out their normal lives so I tried to interact very naturally with them in the setting we were in. I did and they were both absolutely lovely.. ..I hope to meet them both again some day.

When you showed your home to viewers and you mentioned having that rocking chair for a baby to rock....I was so happy! I am beyond happy for you! I used to work for a faith based agency that only licensed families to foster and adopt. As a Christian, it always bothered me that we didn't license anyone from the LGBQT community. Now I work for a company that works with everyone and no one is discriminated. I am so happy for you Tan. You are a lovely couple! Can't wait! Everyone deserves to have a family if they want one!! Congratulations to you both! I'm sure you'll be wonderful parents. Having raised three to adulthood who turned out to be really great people, the only advice I ever give to expecting parents is to make sure you and your spouse have clearly defined expectations about rules, discipline and ethical issues. You guys started out your entire relationship that way, so you should be good to go! My only other advice would be to clearly define who does what and when for the baby so no one ever feels put upon!

As someone who was married to a woman and have always dated men; the questions were asked so diffidently! I have a now 12 year old and have had beautiful step kids. We kept being asked if we would have a baby only with men, always asked if we would adopt instead. Shouldn’t straight people be seen as selfish not adopting instead of having more biological children! I wish I could be a surrogate but due to my health I can’t. Maybe I’ll be able to donate my eggs instead. I just find it ridiculous that the heteronormative crap is so black and white, yet it’s not seen.the same. We should prove we want to fight to a child, but the straights don’t? Ps; love all the queers. This season, I cried every episode with happy and sad tears. It was damn beautiful and exactly what I needed while recovering from sickness. 💜

I wish them all the best with their new family. They seem like wonderful and loving people that have a lot of love and happiness to give their child. It's great they communicate so well about everything regarding their child's upbringing. It's very important. Keep talking to each other and never, ever go behind the other parent on doing things with your kid because it makes the whole thing a problem for undermining parental decisions. Always have each other's back on these decisions. Then the kid will know its never going to be I will ask Dad 1 because Dad 2 never let's me.

Huge congratulations to you, Rob and Tan! You have been together so long and you know each other so well that I think it's going to make it a lot easier to raise children together. The issue of religion is a tough one, even here in America between different religious beliefs. My mother was raised Catholic and my father was raised Unitarian, which I believe is part of the Christian umbrella. I don't know if they could not come to an agreement on how to raise us children or decided it would be better for us to have a neutral religion, but we live right across the street from a Methodist Church and that's where we went every Sunday. We were told to get out of bed from an early age and get over to the church for Sunday School and later for regular church services. I have a great many wonderful memories of the church, even though I am no longer an active member and haven't been for decades. Best of luck! I can't wait to see your son and the two of you together!

Last year, I've been a surrogate for 2 amazing dads here in Québec, Canada. No agencies, we found each others on a Facebook group. This is less expensive for the parents. Add the fact that I did not get paid (only the expenses of pregnancy), and that many tests and meds are free here... It's still complicated, but it was a wonderful experience.
