That second to last catch shows me he's improving. He's lucky Herbert is so accurate and throws him a laser right at his med section so he can make those basket catches.

I think that's part of his body catching problem. Herbert puts it right on him, so he just keeps using his body. He has shown his hands have greatly improved, but keeps reverting to his old ways. He is showing his talent, though, and hopefully continues to play well. This is basically his rookie season. The offense last year was a complete joke.

It's good to see him finally have a truly good game. I'm still pretty worried about him after watching this though. All but maybe one catch was in a tiny catch radius. He's still catching with his chest the majority of the time. He still jumps or hops unnecessarily at the point of the catch instead of catching in stride. Fortunately he's got Herbert just gunning the ball into his center of mass, but it's not looking like he'll be making contested catches consistently any time soon

I think this is nitpicking it too much. Last season he looked like a complete bust and was giving nothing to the offense, now he's a solid contributor. Sure he's not a finished product or an elite player but 13-186 is 13-186. He can still improve on stuff this offseason

Agree with your statement. The drills that got posted online with him were mostly just hand drills. Maybe he will improve other aspects of his game now that his hands appear to be better? His improvement so far gives hope and the coaches obviously believe in him.

Very true but he’s showing a lot of improvement and that he wasn’t a completely wasted draft pick. There’s still a lot of room to improve and if he can keep making strides maybe he can turn into a 1000 yard receiver

Now he shows up Week 18... speaking from a Fantasy Football perspective. Hopefully he has a good 2025 campaign.

Glad he's starting to get those hands right! He's still basket catching a lot of passes he shouldn't.. but as long as he holds on it's all good! Hell of a day QJ

Yeah, the body catches are starting to come back, which i don't like. I feel he could have started moving sooner if he attacked the ball and caught with his hands compared to standing there and waiting. Only one drop due to it being thrown behind him isn't bad. I feel like he is never open enough for YAC idk if it's lack of seperation or just good defense. Hopefully he keeps this up though. He has the size and speed to be special.

Ya that’s why the score was close because they wanted to lose…

if they where tanking, then they wouldnt have gone on a 2 winning streak before getting to the Chargers, they had the #1 pick
