It's incredible how much QGO boosts the graphics. The only downside is increased battery usage with higher settings obviously, but very well worth it.

Yeah same here. With PCVR I'm used to doing a ton of tinkering and cranking up the graphics but I didn't expect the Quest 3 to have so much overhead. Comparisson videos on KZbin don't even do the difference enough justice, when I installed the app and then started Powerwash I was really astonished how great it now looked :D @@VRManCave

This app is essential as it gets especially with the Quest 3 running many games with quest 2 graphics. I thought enabling 120hz in the settings would cause games to try to run at 120hz. It doesn't you are pretty much playing at 72hz no matter what you do if you don't have this app. The performance monitor is amazing and will tell you what your game is really running at as well

The 120hz in the settings is just for games that support it, which is up to the developer to enable. But you’re right, with this app you can force it on other games too of there is enough performance overhead.

It’s strictly for stand-alone. I have a 4090 PV as well and for some games this can bring the quality shockingly close to PCVR. I have another video on the channel about optimizing clarity for PCVR though, so feel free to check that out if you want.

Hello, I have quest 3 with bobovr m3 pro and I was playing red matter with quest game optimizer on the default settings for this game, after 20/30 minutes on the power bank, one of the four dots is lit, is this a normal result? Is the battery draining too quickly? It's so fast in all my games... how can I fix it, because I read that the battery with bobovr should last over 1 hour...

It's an official Lord of the Rings one that Meta released a while ago. Unfortunately I believe it was a timed exclusive so you can't download it any longer, but you might be able to find it online somewhere and just install it via Sidequest.

Thanks for watching! I am honestly not sure about QGO. You will have a separate username and password for it but I don’t know if you can use it on multiple devices at the same time. Best to contact the developer for that question, or if you can afford buying it twice, just support him cause he’s done a fantastic job with this piece of software.

I tried lots of different ways when editing this, but between the recording itself and KZbin compression, it’s really difficult to show in a video. The difference is staggering in the headset and just doesn’t translate that well into recordings sadly.

okay best settings is to keep resolution 100%...frame rate slide to 120...cpu and gpu at dynamic, and foveated at highest...fps games so smooth with 120 fps...my k/d ratio improved...no more wtf moments getting killed...the only different settings i have is for big screen...copy the hd+ resolution, frame rate slide to 120, cpu gpu dynamic, and turn of foveated...awesome movie viewing experience

The clarity will increase on the displays regardless of how well you can see. It is basically a resolution bump so if going from a 1080p monitor to a 1440p or 4K one makes a difference, then this will too :)

Uninstall and start the process over following the video. Make sure to check the Always Allow box when accepting the ADB Over WiFi prompts while installing QGO.

Yes 100%. The cable is just to transfer the file, but then your Quest will work standalone as normal.

The app itself was created back in the Quest 2(if not even Q1, can’t remember) days, so yes it’s worth it for any Quest device in my opinion. Of course the newer the headset, the more horsepower to play with, but it will still bring obvious improvements to any Quest device, including the Pro.

It should work on Mac too, as the Meta Developer Hub works on Mac too. Realistically you only need to copy the file and allow permissions once, so it doesn't really matter what PC you have.

Just start from the beginning and it should work just fine. Reactivate adb commands, copy the file again, install it, etc.

It can’t sadly, because it’s not a resolution issue, it’s a hardware issue. Meta could probably improve their algorhythms but othet than that it is what it is.

@@VRManCave I have read that people have mess around with factory resetting numerous times and somehow drastically improved the passthrough... supposedly it was somehow stuck in battery saving mode and will not change even if you switch to off....and some have a success with the factory reset method.... So IDK.... My passthrough is hideous.... grainy and blurry,

It depends on the game, but I haven't noticed an insane decrease for most cases. Let's say it maybe goes down to 1.5 hours from 2 hours. That being said, I always use a battery headstrap, so it doesn't make any difference as I very rarely play for more than 2-3 hours at a time.

Yup it’s shocking, but to be honest I can understand the reason. Meta needs to play it safe, because VR is not yet mainstream, and with the wrong settings in something like what I showed here, you can get a stuttery mess, which would put off new users. Just safer to keep it standardized and simple :))

The flash when you show the after picture is annoying. We can’t compare the images because the flash messes up our visual memory of the first picture.

You are correct, that was my bad. The Allow option works fine but when you restart your headset you'll be prompted again, the Always Allow prevents that.

My guess is that the Q3 itself is not throttled, but rather developers are still making their games for Q2 since that's where the majority of the user base still is, and then not even bothering to properly test how far the Q3 can be pushed. To be fair it did take about 1 year after the Q2 launched, maybe even a bit more, for really good games that pushed it to the max came out.

Yea agreed thats what has me stalling on buying this app who knows in the long term testing if it will contribute towards the Q3 overheating which is not something new at the moment especially as new Q3 updates roll out etc or the game you just boosted gets another update on top for Q3 graphics tweaks on top of your already graphics boost, who knows i will carry on watching how things develop before deciding to buy it.👍

In the video it doesn't look that impressive. I'm gonna give it a shot on PowerWash Simulator, love the game but it has incredibly bad jaggies that makes it so you can't read anything, also has a low frame rate, hopefully QGO fixes it.

Yeah I know… it’s really tough to show it in recordings but in headset it’s very noticeable. I’ve recorded everything in 4K to try and show it but unless you’re watching on a big screen it won’t quite show how big the difference is.

Higher cpu and gpu settings don't damage your Quest, QGO doesn't overlock anything. Powerwash VR for example transform for a jagged, blurry mess into sharp graphics with this tool.

It doesn't add brightness and sharpness and doesn't mess with the internal components in any way, it just bumps up the resolution. All the safety mechanisms made by Meta are still in place, and this type of resolution bump has been available since the Quest 1 and no one has ever complained about any issues. It's just way easier now with this tool than doing it manually.
