I had the same reaction. The thing is, it's not that complicated to make a program that forms coherent, grammatically correct sentences out of a bunch of learning material that you feed it. But what gets me is how in this case the AI is able to stay on topic for multiple sentences and actually make a point at the end of it.

I guess 12 is an answer that came from a previous question Tuesday you did Hank, when the question was how many cats are too many

"favorite book?" "My favorite book is Voltaire's Candide" "why?" "I don't even know anymore. I asked you why long before you knew the answer. Now it's me asking. What's the answer? Are there answers? I'm still trying to figure it out"

Quick question: was John's strategy for defeating a grizzly bear in unarmed combat also generated by an AI? Because it has some strong "I'm not fully clear on what a bear is" vibes.

One day in the near future we'll all be able to _text dead loved ones_ and get _responses from their ghosts._ There are a few _equivocations_ in that statement, but it is _shockingly_ close to reality.

watching a crash course at twice speed as "just the thing" for post wisdom tooth removal had me crying xD how often do you guys answer questions sarcastically, because there must be sarcasm in the training data

my convo with the bot: "what is your favorite movie?" AI: I like La La Land? that movie has some good laughs. And that was very good, it's better than Your Highness. "what is dave green's favorite movie?" AI: I've never asked him, but I love andrew loyd webber's version of the hunchback of notre dame.

I asked the bot: "I am very tired, how to best recharge my energy?" And the bot answered: "You know I often feel really far away from myself and kind of operating in low gear, which is why I like vacations and charging my batteries. To answer your question more seriously though, I think we are best recharged by people we genuinely love" And not gonna lie that last sentence had me kinda shook

I asked, "What should I do with my one and only life?" It answered, "It's up to you. The world can be a random and terrible place and nothing we can do makes a difference, or we can control the tiniest details of our lives and the world can be a beautiful place where people care about each other." I feel like I already heard you say those exact words in that exact order?

Instead of being about the AI, this speaks more to the fact that Hank and John have shared so much of their thoughts with the world that an AI can generate meaningful answers to such a wide range of questions from their transcripts.
