Liked this at first hearing about 4 weeks ago...because of the controlled reflective pace and message..the universality of the theme. The whole song has a strong sadness, truth and revelation. As I write poetry I knew there would be the twist at the end..which works because it addresses self examination...it's not preachy but relatable. I particularly appreciated the coincidence that I have recently met someone like this who does now understand his past but is now going through the crisis of grief, like in 'The Shore '...having to escape those that should be 'family '. My fear is that although he now has the understanding, he might not be able to stick to his intentions...the key. Yes Matt, very meaningful lyrics which also help relatively trouble free people to understand the various cages that many people have. Also another asset of the song is that it's very relaxing to listen to with well defined vocal and emotional emphasis. X
