Hi, what do you guys think about the CBC Canada article about KIa, "New Kia vehicles that have arrived from overseas are sitting on a storage lot in Wolverton, Ont., purposely locked up even though customers have been waiting months and months - some well over a year - to get their vehicles. The new cars are being withheld from Kia's Ontario dealerships - and reportedly from many more across the country - as part of a controversial plan by Kia Canada to game the number of sales in the last six weeks of the year." The Subaru Forrester just ranked in the top ten most reliable cars in Consumer reports - slightly ahead of the RAV4 and Highlander (both made the top 10 as well). First place was the Toyota 4Runner, followed by Toyota Camry Hybrid and then Gas Camry. Japan is the way to go. One thing I do find odd is why the Outback doesn't score as well as the Forester in reliability - you'd think it would be largely the same vehicle (engine transmission, touch screens and similar parts throughout) and I prefer the look of the Outback. I wish there was a way to deep dive into these things. I'd also note perhaps who is buying them and how a car is being driven. Take the Miata - it always scores very high on reliability - that's impressive when you consider all the people who take them to the track - these things are driven very hard compared to most vehicles and still don't break down. Same for some of the Mustang GTs that do pretty well considering and I often think if you just GT the car and drive it slow and boring - maybe these cars would be utterly bomb-proof. Oh now I see - the Outback has the Turbo and that will hurt the reliability.

Last December (2022), I bought a Forester Touring. I Love the car, But I Hate that the low oil light keeps flickering. I Hate that the dashboard lights keep burning out. I Hate that the Eyesight keeps malfunctioning. And I especially HATE that the transmission has to be replaced at only 14K miles ! As soon as the transmission is replaced, I’ll be selling my Lemon and going back to Toyota. As far as I’m concerned, Subaru can go 🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽 Themselves ! This is my First and LAST Subaru EVER ! 🖕🏽 Subaru !

Yes I have wondered why CR rates OB significantly different than the Forester. The turbo affect Outback reliability a bit. But the bigger factor is that until 23, the Forest had a much simpler infotainment system. Lots of consumer complaints about the version the the OB since 2020. I have a 22 OB & find the infotainment system works well but it is more complicated, takes more attention and steps than the older Forester system.

Just to comment on the gentlemen that had the question about leasing... You forgot to mention the possible disposition fee.. I'm on my fourth Cadillac, (2nd XT6) it just does everything right, anyway part of me sticking with Cadillac is that $600 disposition fee If I want to go to another Brand it's going to cost me $600 plus I'm sure they're going to look a little bit harder at things like tire wear.. I pay for 15,000 mi a year so they're getting a car with 45000 mi after 3 yrs.. sticking with a new Cadillac or any GM product I have yet to pay for tires (Michelins) probably 2K with the disposition fee

I think Tesla’s ‘Cybertruck’ makes the Hummer EV look amazing. I still think , they’ll never actually make it into any sort of serious production (I believe ALL of them are preproduction examples… I could be wrong). Mostly due to costs (final out-the-door prices, interest rates, material costs, etc.), DOT pedestrian safety regulations (front end) and it’s ridiculousness. And like the Hummer… they’ll sell a few, but the market will dictate what the ‘Real Demand’ is. A pre-order price of a $100, in my opinion… is about as good as a lottery ticket. Thanks for another QC&C episode.

Watch the Munro Live tour of the Cyber truck door production video out a few days ago. That production line is state of the art and the real deal. They plan to ramp up slower to maintain quality. I’ve been through automotive stamps plants for 25 years, so I have something to compare it to.
@kellingtonlink95610 ай бұрын
It definitely was one hell of an interesting tour and launch… albeit somewhat ‘controlled’. Makes you wonder what they are doing in the other 97% of that giant warehouse. Tucker did the very same thing (ironically in the ‘then’ largest factory in the United States). Hmmm…

I will add to the first question, as someone went from driving an old bmw and switched to an outback xt , the drive of the outback with a turbo is the closest to what i am used to driving vs the forester with the non turbo. The forester has better ride height and visibility.. but that engine.. bleh...

You do not have to lease in order to benefit from having a vehicle owned within your company. If you own the vehicle you can claim a capital cost allowance which may actually be more or less that claiming a lease payment.

The person asking about a lease should not lease a car! They think they are not responsible for basic maintenance, let alone when they find out the must keep it well maintained. After 4 years they might have to pay for tires and brakes, and of course any wheel curb rash, scratches, dents, etc....

I have a question about leasing as well...will the dealership make you replace a windshield if no cracks or tires if they are worn but still in good condition?
@gobear8310 ай бұрын
Not sure why they would ask you to change a windshield if it’s not cracked …we just traded two Subaru , they washed and serviced them and they were sold one minutes after I dropped it off. I traded a BMW 3 series back in 2007 …it was in need of windshield , tires and a brake job…they just made the repairs and flipped it

When the lease on my Lexus ended, I opted to buy the car but the dealer insisted that government regulations require the car be "inspected" by them. They charged over $400 for the supposed inspection. The car was in great shape after only 18,200 km in 39 months of use. Was the inspection requirement a scam?
@M4st3rm1nd_0110 ай бұрын
