Today I am sharing the biggest questions that I think that new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Reunion special, Once & Always, need to answer. Questions that, if not answered, will create huge plot holes. Let me know what you think in the comments down below!

For the Rita one I have a theory on that. While she was purified and became mystic mother. I would say that the evilness was taken out of her. Whether it was left to travel the cosmos or has taken over the robot since it left rita's body is unknown. As for the who is the green ranger. I don't think it would be his son.... The reason I would say that is because the premise of the special is going to the past not the future and if it would be tommy's son remember he is an spd ranger and his ranger suit would be spd green not the dragon ranger. And by the looks of it Aisha and Adam and the leaders of what will one day be space patrol delta. Now if JJ is introduced and its him in the dragon ranger suit they are going to have to deal with the issue that past katherine is fighting by her son's side. I guess they could do the mind wipe spd did with the dino thunder who knows. My theory is that since JDF god rest his soul passed. They could do something where JJ is already born and once of his parents has to take care of him and that could explain him being unmorphed and he told Katherine that if they call him, he would be there. Perhaps Tommy left him with a neighbor or alone

I'm thinking you're on the right track with the whole "Rita had her evilness removed and all that was left was good" theory. I'll add a bit of my own conjecture: The "Evil Energy" was captured by the Machine Empire in an attempt to use Rita's powers for themselves. They built a new body for her to try and contain it and use her as a pawn but she rebelled. Maybe she did a number on them on her way out which is why we don't see them now, maybe they're rebuilding and are planning an attack on the Earth later. I mean it wouldn't be the first time they came back, right?

@@HoraceSteve i like your idea of the machine empire being involved but i have an idea that would connect to power rangers cosmic fury unless my memory is mistaken scrozzle may not have been destroyed and with zedd free and thinking of a way to defeat the rangers he could recall more of his past and realize he had more wins against the rangers with his wife by his side so what if he hunted down the mystic mother and pulled a darkonda on her having scrozzle turn her into the robotic form we see it would be a double win because hed not only get his partner in crime back but 8 rangers would loose there connection to the morphing grid and thus out of the picture without M.M. to grant them there powers

Adam was the only Mighty Morphin' Ranger that had a story behind why he had his powers, there was an explanation in Power Rangers In Space's Always a Chance though he didn't have full control of the power due to it being damaged and it was drawing from his life force. Then there was an explanation to how his powers were fully restored in Power Rangers Operation Overdrive's Once A Ranger.

yeah I always figured alpha 6 since the descruction of the power chamber went back to its remains during some downtime during In space and picked up what he found to try to figure out if there was a way of getting ahold of zordon likely finding the old morphers and trying to work on them whenever nothing was going on.

the prview clip for once and always actually answered the question of the power coins, they are proxy coins designed by billy and alpha, how long they last is anyone guess it very well could be only enough power to deal wit hthe situation at hand.

Honestly, I think some of these questions might not be answered, unfortunately. I would love to get the answers to these questions as well, but with the run time being what it is, they will probably (and also hopefully, in my opinion), focus on the story at hand. I don't think Billy's story will be addressed, even though I would also like to know what happened. Rita's story will more than likely be explained. I think this will be the one that will be touched upon the most, other than the appearance of both Kat and Rocky instead of Kimberly and Jason. As for Tommy, I think it will be a helmeted appearance, much like they did for the Legends Battle in Super Megaforce with some former Rangers who couldn't be there. I think no one other than Tommy Oliver will ever be the Green Ranger, especially for a 30-Year Reunion Special. I could be wrong, though. Maybe it's Adam, maybe it's JJ. It could even be Skye or Jenna, JDF's real-life daughters, as a surprise for the possible future of the franchise. Regardless of what the outcome will be, I'm going in with an open mind (as well as turning my mind off) so I can enjoy some of my favorite superheroes with you all, my fellow Ranger fans. It’s been 30 years, I’m sure Billy would’ve been able to get things taken care of regarding his aging issue. My idea for Rita is that her evil essence was floating around kinda like Starscream’s ghost from Transformers and that essence was attached to a robot body. As for the GR. It’s Tommy. The red and pink rangers are Jason and Kimberly. The scene with the GR is when Trini dies. The Red, Pink and Green rangers are captured so that will explain the absence of those characters. It’s also why we don’t see those three helmetless when Trini dies.

I am extremely happy to see David Yost and Waltor Jones back… But I cannot help but feel sad that my childhood favorite Jason and Kimberly are not going to be a part of this. Not to mention JDF. All I have ever wanted was ☝🏻 reunion with all the originals. After that, the current generation of fans can have PR back. But I digress… It will never happen now sadly.

At least we're still getting a Power Rangers reunion even if it isn't the one we want to happen. I think the fans need to let their expectations of it being the ORIGINAL CAST go, and just be happy that it's even happening regardless of who is or who is not an original member. It doesn't matter anyway, because the 30th anniversary of the SERIES is what's being celebrated, not just the FIRST SEASON.

Agreed, I think that's who this is met for. I'm one of those people, I stopped watching soon after Billy gave up being a Power Ranger, so a lot of the plot holes mentioned here are stuff I only learned in the last few months when I heard about this special. If the show never mentions any of those plot holes I probably wouldn't have even realized they existed without KZbin.

For me one of the biggest plot holes is Aisha. At the beginning of Zeo she stayed in the past in Africa and Tanya took her place in the present. How is she back? Did her and Tanya switch places? Is Tanya still around?

Wow! I never watched Mystic Force, so I never knew that Rita became basically good, and like a Zordon to those rangers. I like that. I think this is just simply a robot built-in Rita's image I love so many different bad guys in the series many could have done it. Machine Empire, bansheera could have kicked her evil spirit out of the Netherworld, the robot supremacist from Time Force, plenty of options.

The power coins should be easy I mean zordon and alpha created the white ranger so it shouldn't be much of a stretch to assume alpha and Billy could create new coins and links for any powers. Also wondering if we might get a zordon cameo like a recorded message based on zacks line from the teaser

The recent press images implied that the OGs who will not be appearing in person were captured by Rita and turned them into action figures, hence why their replacements Rocky and Kat will be filling in using the proxy power coins.

My Theory/Hope for the Green Ranger Story line would be: In the opening scene, the Power Ranger start the battle all morphed, Rita then kills Trini and captures the Pink, Red & Green (Kimberly, Jason & Tommy) Rangers (none of them ever being unmorphed), The plot line then revolves around the rest of the Rangers trying to take down Rita and save the other 3 Rangers. Now with Rocky & Katherine taking up the mantle as the Red and Pink Rangers, (And nobody else ever being the Green Ranger, thus nobody being able to take his place does not appear in the rest of the series). Until the Final battle where the Rangers save the 3 OG Rangers and during the Battle Tommy Bravely Sacrifices himself to save the rest of the Rangers and defeat Rita (Thus never revealing who is actually playing the character). And they end by having a memorial scene for Tommy and Trini

This special is for the kids like me who grew up in the 90s and watched the first 3 seasons only. It’s a nostalgia ride. It’s not for the hardcore fans, so none of this stuff is important. The target audience doesn’t care or know about anything which happened after S3. Think of it as a continuation of MMPR.

Green ranger is easy to figure out. It’ll be Tommy at the beginning of the show, just like it’s Kimberly and Jason. We won’t see them unmorphed. Then Rita makes them into figurines which is why Rocky and Kat come back. But they don’t find a replacement green ranger so there probably won’t be one for the rest of the special.

I'm not exactly sure about most of your other questions getting answered because I don't think there will be enough time in the special for everything to get answered. But I do think that the Rita situation will definitely be answered . And as for all of the BILLY questions you have I agree with a couple of others that it really shouldn't be that hard to figure out that Billy at some point decided to come back to earth & I'm guessing that Billy & Alpha probably have been working together over the last several years to figure out some sort of a more permanent cure to take care of Billy's rapidly aging issues just like they have been working together to create The new proxy power coins which have been revealed. And everyone knows how incredibly Talented & intelligent Billy + Alfa both are Alone. So it's a sure bet that they would be extremely intelligent and even more reliable Working together. So it should not be that hard for them together to not only come up with a way to recreate new proxy power coins, improve the Morphing grid but also to create some sort Of A permanent cure for Billy's rapidly aging problem . Because that's Just how AWESOME 👍 BILLY+ ALFA ARE ESPECIALLY WORKING TOGETHER. 💖

Special starts with a fight suited up. Green and pink are turned into small figures as seen in the trailer background. Yellow is killed. They find a way to make proxy access to those left and Trinis daughter to take down robo Rita.

In my opinion the green ranger is Tommy Oliver. He, Jason and Kimberly will be transformed into figurines by Rita. This explain why Billy, Zack and Alpha call Kat and Rocky for help. And we'll not see Jason, Kimberly and Tommy without the helmets because the actors aren't in the special.

Pretty sure the green, yellow, pink and red Ranger are supposed to be Jason, Tommy, Kimberley and Trini, but we won’t see their faces. They will be written out from the beginning to explain their absense from the special. Trini will die (because TT passed away in real life). JDF was still alive during filming and so his characters fate will not have an on screen death, in the same way. Tommy, Kimberley and Jason will be captured by Rita. I don’t think we will see their faces, but it’s possible they could use old audio clips to make it seem like said Rangers are present. Unless, of course some cameo’s or voice recordings we’re made off set. Don’t forget, this was filmed before JDF passed away. We know Trini‘s daughter will take on yellow Ranger, but with Adam and Ayeisha also being present, will they also at some point be rangers, that’s another question. 🤔

For the Rita thing, I have a theory. Zedd was able to restore Rita’s darkness as a separate being but not restore her to her body. So this new Rita will jump through bodies, starting with the robot before getting a new, possibly monstrous form and returning to Zedd before Cosmic Fury. As for the Green Ranger… I kinda want it to be Justin.

honestly since I watched the og series & saw billys send off, I was wondering how billy was cured. Honestly in my opinion, since billy does have the intellect, I can see him finding a cure. he was able to 1, create the communicators 2 find a way to get to the command center when Tommy wrecked it when he was brainwashed 3 make a device that hydrated the alien rangers when fighting boss hog 4 able to make a controller to control the falcon zord when the shogun megazords power sword wasn't enough to make the upgraded version of the shogun word, and there's so many others I'm forgeting. keep in mind its just a theory but I'm sure he could find a cure, it isn't if billy could find a cure, but how in depth they're able to go into it with there being so much time in an allotted amount of time

If you watched Billy’s send off you wouldn’t be asking how he got cured. As Billy an Sestria contact the power chamber they use Blurry stock footage of David Yost, and we are told and see that the treatment was a success. Billy says he’s fallen in Love and is staying on Aquatar. Billy’s appearance solved. What needs to be explained is when did he come back to Earth.

I saw some theories that Scrozzle from Beast Morphers made Robo Rita between Beast Morphers and Dino Fury. As for the Green Ranger my theory is that it is Tommy in the suit but its a flashback so we might only see him there since he might get captured during that fight.

Green Ranger - It’s Tommy. Just like it’s Jason and Kim in that scene. They get captured, and in comes Rocky and Kat. We won’t see them unhelmeted, but it’s them. Rocky - This could take place before Ninja Steel to explain the “proxy” coin. The power transfer copied the powers to Rocky, so Jason has always had the original morpher. Rocky’s was destroyed at the start of S3, so the proxy coin is what he could have been using in Ninja Steel if we believe this takes place before that.

They used a stunt double for Tommy in the green uniform. They used some left over voice tracks from the original show for him. You never really see present day Tommy. He gets captured with some other rangers. There is a tribute to Tommy and Trini at the end. Plot hole 4 filled.

I'd be more critical of this video if it wasn't made before the special aired. But that alone is deserving of cricism, since people might go in assuming that there will be plotholes. Especially considering that one of the questions already has an answer. The original Power Coins were never destroyed. Whenever you see a return of one of the Mighty Morphin' Rangers, it's always with the original zords. The coins that were destroyed were the Ninja coins from Season 3. (It does beg the question of how Kat has the Pterodactle coin though.)

In Zeo before Jason became the gold ranger it was discovered that the explosion of the command center made it so Billy can't morph any more because he got exposed to more radiation then the others.

As for the Green Ranger it seems fairly clear it is ‘Tommy’ but just an actor hidden behind a mask… won’t be seen unmorphed and is written out of the episode early on so will remove any awkwardness…. The same as with Jason & Kim being in it at the start but no JDF, ASJ or Amy Jo

We know it's 'Tommy' because in Zeo A Season to Remember, we see an old Tommy and Kat and two grandsons. This shows us that 'in universe' Tommy lives a long life with Catherine. They have a son J.J Oliver, two grandsons and the elder is a Power Ranger as we hear a communicator go off! I hope the producers of Power Rangers always remember that Tommy Oliver lives a long, and seemingly happy life. Whilst Jason Frank may be gone before his due time, Tommy Oliver lives on!

You knowledge seems to be lacking to me. Trini's actor died in 2001! It seems they are a bit late making her die in this special! 21 years after her actor died! If Trini can die in universe in 2022, Jason Frank can live to an old age as Tommy Oliver in universe. It's like saying "you can't be an Australian because you are White".

Maybe Rita didn't get purified. Maybe she split into two..one good one pure evil. The good kept the body. But the evil was just energy floating around until the new body was built. Think about it. When she was whole she showed romantic feelings toward zed. She had good in her. Now her evil half is all kill kill kill (she literally says kill) and notice she actually fights in combat..og Rita I don't recall faced the rangers head on in combat.

Stuff like this I advocate for play Star war/star trek like eu( mostly in comics) to explain and expand upon plot lines and hole that the show's cant afford(or effort) to do. Not just this special but for the overall continuity of the franchise. Like for this special they could have given us a prequel miniseries that could detail where each character (including the replacement ones) has been much better. And just have the special focus on what we need to accomplish in under an hour.

Point of clarification, Billy didn't just step aside, he legit lost the ability to morph because, I believe his body became polarized when he landed on a console in the command tower when it was exploding.

I agree it's dumb but that's how they wrote it and it's just as dumb to make him leave because he was aging. Worst character departure ever in a series but I still love the rangers and Billy was always a favorite. He was smart and tough. And him being a ranger helped him come out of his shell eventually, which is why Billy will always be the most relatable character. He had doubts but found a way to overcome all.

I have a personal head Canon that rita after being turned good traveled back in time so she could become the mystic mother. While in the past she realized she was pregnant with her and zedds child. Giving birth in the past can explain his age and rivalry with the sentinel knight. Now for the green ranger I want it to be either an older JJ taking over like with trini's daughter or maybe Adam gaining a master morpher along with the green ranger powers

in the scene that was released Billy hands her the coin and he stated he and Alpha were working on duplicating the power coins so in theory Kimberly still has the original coin just like Jason still has his and Rocky gets a duplicate. There is a screenshot that was just dropped a day or so ago showing figurines of rangers tied up on a shelf next to what looks like Rita's time travel device and The Pink, Red and Green are clearly shown along side Pink in Space and a few others.

So here’s a theory by a friend of mine: Rita before Dark Spector had issued the declaration of invade everywhere she could had Finster build her a robot body to have a vessel for her evil essence to transfer into but they hid the robot body where only Rita knew where it was and so her essence knew where it was and she after being cleansed the evil part of her essence traveled to where the robot was and then it possessed the robot. Now for future video idea you could discuss what truly did happen to the evil essence energies of Rita, Zedd and Divatox because I have a spiritual friend who believes that just because you had something cleansed about you doesn’t mean that essence is truly gone and it’s somewhere in the universe trying to manifest itself once again. Your thoughts? Anyone’s thoughts?

I assume when we see all 6 rangers together that is the original 6 back in time. So we can use voice clips and voiceovers. I know the biggest reasons Jason and Kimberly aren’t in this is due to travel, but I’m sure they could ADR 1 or 2 lines closer to home if needed. That’s my guess anyway.

I think when Zordon’s death purified Rita, it cast the evil part out of her body which probably roamed the universe until it found a host.That’s probably why Robo Rita says she’s got a New Body

When is it supposed to release? As for theroies? I think it would be cool if the Green Ranger was his son, I think Adam would be a solid replacement as well. Sort of an "In Honor Of" kind of moment. It would even be one of the other rangers who was on the team with him. We haven't seen Jason yet, maybe it's him. Brothers in Arms. The Original Team Leaders. I know he has other things goin on in his life, but who knows. I just hope it's good. IDK about Rita. Maybe the evil portion of her consciousness was copied somehow before it was destroyed? I hope they don't just turn her evil again.

I think they don't NEED to answer them for the majority of viewers. For most of us, we watched season 1 of MMPR, probably some of season 2, and by the time we had aliens and little kids and Zeo Rangers, we were on to the next trend. Anything beyond that, 90% of people that will watch this special don't have a clue. I'm sure they will try to explain it, but really the super hardcore Power Rangers series lovers, that have watched from 1993 to now and know all of the lore, need to realize what this is. It's a one off thing that appeals to the nostalgia of the near 40 crowd. It's a gimmick, basically. If I was a super hardcore fan, I'd just ignore this and keep it out of the canon in my mind.

I am looking forward to this, but my expectation as moderate. I hope it is great, but at the end of the day it is just a special with a handful of the original cast from the first or second season. Don't get me wrong, I am an old school fan of the Power Rangers, but I would encourage all viewers to keep expectation realistic.

i didnt realize that Rita storyline. obviously i know what happened from "In Space", but i honestly didnt watch past "Lost Galaxy". like you said it is technically a kids show, but we are who it has to be aimed at so i hope it does explain some things, but im betting realistically it wont. they will probably just "Billy is smart" their way out of most of the explanations. its just 90s kid nostalgia (not complaining lol) so there just back for one more battle and how or why doesnt matter. i would enjoy real stories about the how and why, but i believe its more important to us than it is the writers. i was thinking maybe "ROBO RITA" may be from the Machine Empire and not actually Rita. maybe they recreated her and somehow captured some of her evil essence before being cleansed or something, but i think the Machine Empire was the plot for "Forever Red" (didnt watch) so im not sure. as for you wanting to know how to go about making your reaction, id say maybe post a quick live afterwards with your initial thoughts not during so you can enjoy it first. then make a regular reaction video to post later with your in depth theories and reactions.

So ever since Forever Red, Ive been curious about the power coins. I know back then, they didnt care much for avoiding plot holes. So my theory, the sword of power (that originally gave rocky, adam, and aisha their powers) wasnt transferring powers, but cloning them. Thats probably what zack means when he says "Zordon was clear about duplicating active ranger powers being dangerous." Thats WHY they needed the sword of power. Afterall, Kim didnt need a sword or power to give Kat her ninja coin. So Zack, Jason, and Trini still have the OG coins. Billy and Kim's coins SHOULD be damaged like Adam's was during his 'In Space' return. I believe Billy and Alpha were able to restore the blue and pink original coins, but because of Jason and Kim being captured, they needed to make these proxy coins. I doubt we get an answer about Tommy aside from, "ive gotta get back to reefside."

As for robo rita I have a suspicion/theory that maybe just maybe prince gasket and archerina of the machine empire had something to do with it since they could technically still be alive seeing how they weren't seen as part of dark spectors united alliance of evil thus somehow surviving zordons energy wave 🤔

no, Tommy surrendered the Coin to Jason which transferred the powers over to him and stopped Rita from getting the powers but later on, Zordon restored the powers which gave out during a battle but because of something happening during his battle, it caused the coin to have a temporary charge of the powers which Zordon had to re-energize at points. Zordon couldn't keep doing this and when Zedd took over, he made it a goal to get rid of the Green powers and he eventually succeeded with that. That being said, the powers were just drained and the Coins were made by Ninjor so anyone with the knowledge would be able to either fix it or re-create it, we saw MMPR Green as part of the Super Megaforce Legendary Battle then we saw him as part of the Super Ninja Steel Dimensions in Danger ep where he shows he has a new Morpher called a Master Morpher which allows him to cycle through his various powers.

There's a lot of questions that's keeping me from liking this movie. In the original timeline the power coins were destroyed, the og megazord was destroyed, the command center was destroyed in Turbo, Alpha was last seen in Space, Zordon was destroyed in Space, Rita and Zed were turned pure. Like, was there a retcon? Like, why's Rita a robot? So many questions. You're not a real fan if you don't acknowledge this. Where's Bulk and School, where's Jason and Kimberly? Why is this considered a movie, and it's only like 55 mins. Long?

Nope, no retcon. Zordon's sacrifice commonly called the Z-wave by us fans was brought up. Anything else wasn't brought up, we just briefly saw the OG team when Robo-Rita kills Trini. Alpha 5 was last seen in Turbo, Alpha 6 was last seen originally in Galaxy but we next see him in Overdrive. Wild Force's Forever Red has an Alpha 7. The powers have been revived without any explanations generally but you can handwave whatever 1 wants to. Overdrive used the Sentinel Knight to explain the restorations for Adam, Tori and Kira and it was never said it was temporary despite him being in a very weakened state. The robot Rita thing got explained, her evil energy corrupted Alpha 8.
