This is why I’m really happy that rock bands and bands in general are becoming prevalent again. That’s where I’m getting my storytelling and musicianship from nowadays. Haven’t listened to the radio since 2013

Great interview so far, I love the part when they discuss the quaog music and how songs is so short now. I noticed that myself, I'm 40 I admire some of today's musicians they are underrated ones and hardly get any play. I listen to people like The Internet (they make great quality songs and have bridge in their songs), I like Lucky Daye his music is pretty good, I Ike H.E.R, Ella Mai, Thundercat, Janelle Monae, Solange, Anderson Paak, Robert Glasper, and etc. Like the lady said peopledontvwant to really love anymore they just want songs they can get their quickies in, where is the love i really agree. I have to revert back to 70s to early 00s R&B to feel that real love through soul R&B songs. I love how NeYo mentioned Billy Ocean "suddenly" that is a beautiful song i tear up to that song also.

Suga Steve Love the website and the music would not have listen to it if it wasn’t for the show. Quest, I’m glad we are not locked down but I must admit I miss the DJ sets you put on during the pandemic

Soul/R&B never strayed too far from its roots until this crazy new generation. I personally think when we started accepting heavily watered down pop groups as R&B it was the beginning of the end.

when ne-yo said he was a big fan of sammy davis jr i realised like, ohhhh, that's why he's so into being stylish. sammy davis jr even used to tilt his bowler hat to the side and run his fingers across the brim just like ne-yo does. when people achieve things, they're always standing on the shoulders of giants.

I understand what he is saying about the quality suffering. But if people are accepting/satisfied with this music… why would they change. It just sounds like us as the fans have to hold artists to a standard or hold them accountable rather, (well the ones that actually care about the art of this thing we call music) And aren’t just in it strictly for the check. That may be the only way things will ever change..Along with world conditions and attention spans and a whole bunch of other catalysts at play. Peace and LOVE Crew and Ne-yo 👑
