I like how the music in this scene is the same one used in the first time we saw Anakin in Darth Vader's suit; it perfectly alludes to the fact that Qui-Gon's death essentially doomed Anakin into falling to the dark side. You see... Qui-Gon Jinn was the ideal, if not the *perfect* paternal figure for young Anakin, but with him gone, Anakin gets easily befriended by Palpatine, allowing the manipulative Sith lord to become the father figure that Qui-Gon never became.

During Anakin's training and the events of Attack of the Clones, the seeds begun to take root and grow little by little. Qui Gon's death was the final straw for Count Dooku, who ultimately left the Jedi Order and would come to hate the Order forever as a result. The irony is that Palpatine both attended Qui Gon's funeral, and later used Jinn's death as an advantage to turn Dooku to the dark side. If Qui Gon had survived, it's likely that the Clone War would not have happened in the scale as it did in AOTC, speaking of ROTS aswell (no darth vader, no order 66), in regards to that Anakin would have been trained by Qui Gon solely and become neutral. But Palpatine would have probably found another way around and still have his Empire rise.

to think this happens right after dooku kills yaddle.
@da-vidcargill49752 жыл бұрын
@Trevor White no after, palpaltine was there when yaddle died on coruscant. so its makes sense, after yaddle death, he went to naboo for quigon funeral, but a key dialogue which fans need to pay attention( dialogue is something fans need to start looking into as its important) is that yaddle said that the masters were on their way to naboo for the funeral , before following dooku, which means quigon funeral didnt start at the time of dooku vs yaddle

In this shot, Obi Wan and Padme standing between Pulpy and Anakin. As you know, these two were the only thing that kept Anakin from going to the dark side. Lucas is a master of such details...
@adamcade6048 ай бұрын
Lucas has a tendency in his directing to offer his creativity on specific sequences with having immense choreography, or dramatic scenes but then he would leave other parts on the fly and that brought down the prequels

imagine how different it would have been if Qui Gon never died. this is also one of my favourite scenes in all of Star Wars, Anakin staring at his future of fire and even the same music playing when he transformed into Darth Vader. this scene is brilliant although the whole film is not very good this and the duel of the fates were the only parts of the film I liked

Th symbolism of having padme and obi wan stand between anakin and palpatine was cool. Then having the burning body have the same theme as Anakin going into the suit later on. Anakin asking his future and literally seeing it in front of him.

Dooku did not attend his padawans funeral. Dooku had already committed to the sith cause by this point, however he would've thrown the shroud of the dark side and had been at Palpatine's throat had he been there and watched the lord of darkness pretending to mourn and care for Qui Gonn's death. Practically a mockery to him.
