John, instead of wiping the black off with a microfiber just polish with the power ball then spray with windex and rinse off. It completely removes the black smudgy stuff. It's the ultimate short cut in polishing aluminum.

Some 0000 steel wool and some slightly more aggressive compound will make them look like chrome 😉. Looks good!

The blacker the polish gets the better results have been for my drag lites. Blue Magic and Mothers have worked well. There's white diamond and a whole bunch. I have not sanded them out first.

used to use the mothers would make them rims really black Wash out with sopy water to clean them out instead of me dry rag works really well
