Hmm i tried to do the exact same thing like in your video. Mij shaving cream also looks powdery but after 20 hours of waiting it never gets to the kind of colored shaving cream like you had when washing it off. I got no clue why still a nice video though.

The only thing I can think it might be is the type of plastic of the disc. Certain plastics do not absorb dies as well as others. The lower grade plastics do not die well. But the high-end ones usually soak it up pretty good. I hope this helps and I’m sorry it didn’t turn out great. But thank you for checking out the vid!

I had mine in for 12 hrs but you can do long or shorter depending on the depth you want.
