Too hot to stand over the stove to cook down cheese sauce for your mac and cheese? Try this quick version.
Ingredients:
3 cups cooked pasta
1/2 stick butter, cubed
1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese
1.5 cups mild cheddar
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 cup milk
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp nutmeg
Directions:
Place pasta in a 8 x 11 (approx size) baking dish.
While pasta is still warm add butter and stir.
Add cheese and stir until slightly melted.
Add milk and sour cream.
Grate in approx 1 tsp nutmeg.
Top with 1/2 cup of each: sharp, mild and mozzarella cheese.
Bake in a preheated oven until edges turn brown (approx. 30 min.)
