I bought my VX2X two weeks ago. All those saying it needs a suspension are missing the point. The VX4 is only slightly more expensive if you want a suspension. But I got the VX2X because I wanted something more portable.

True! Ramier and I were talking about this yesterday as we were doing the final edits. I really don’t know which one I would pick: VX2 or VX4 because while I Looove the suspension of the VX4 for super long rides, I’ve been enjoying chucking the VX2 Extreme in the trunk to bring it home every day (I’d ride it home but I have a freeway commute across a bridge that doesn’t allow scooters). -Paul

For the price point, the VX2 Extreme should've had at least a front spring suspension just like the Segway F2 Pro was to the Segway G2 Max which is a whopping $400 less! I got the Apollo Go instead for that very reason while keeping it lightweight!

Paul and Team ESG/RG ~ Appreciate all the thought and toil you put into research and published resources for us! 👏👏👏(BTW ~ check your "Ride Finder" database on the Extreme, I think there is a typo on the Range vs. this video)....MY Q ~ I am tossing between Apollo GO 2024 and the Vmax Extreme ..... I find Apollo design and VMax design equally appealing....It comes down to the disappointing reality of the trade-off between battery weight and suspension weight....I would like the suspension of the Apollo but I am cringing at the 18.6 mile range and prefer the 10+ more miles (and +hill power) that the Extreme will give ( I eliminated the VX4 b/c of the weight)....... SO, My Q is...does reducing tire pressure to 35 psi on the Extreme make the ride that much smoother that I will prolly not miss the suspension of the Apollo Go? iyo
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide3 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the call out on the range in the RideFinder. You're right and I have no idea how that happened. I forwarded the correct number 28.9 miles to the web team to fix it. It's a tough call. I was having the same conversation with Ramier: Do I want a VX4, a VX2 Extreme or a Go. I sincerely love all three scooters, like a lot. But for really different reasons. To do 30 miles all at once, it's VX4 all day long, no question. So comfortable and smooth. But to chuck it in the trunk and carry upstairs, the Go and the VX2 are delightful, where the VX4 makes me wince. And then when I think of smashing hills, the VX2 Extreme makes me laugh at hills, same with the VX4, but the VX2 Extreme is actually stronger up hill, and the Go gets it done up hills but with less authority and agression. The ride quality on the Go is next level smooth. Like Lexus, or a big Mercedes. Even pushing it across the room you can feel it. And it's so skinny and just polished-looking. I don't know if I've helped at all. It depends on the riding you'll be doing the most. You can't go wrong with any of them. -Paul

I need help understanding the preoccupation with top speed. In most areas, the top speed legal speed allowed on public roads and bike trails is 20 mph or about 32 kph. Promoting higher speeds is irresponsible. Otherwise, acceleration and hill climb tests make good sense.
@steakovercake39863 ай бұрын
Ok Karen 😂
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide3 ай бұрын
I’ve thought about this a lot. Why can’t we make headlines out of hill climb test results instead. I think it’s the same reason car magazines post about 200mph cars. Mainly, I think they do it because it’s interesting when things can go fast, even if you choose not to use them that way. I never tested the true top speed of my F355 Spider, but was happy that the magazines did. But the other reason is that speed is a proxy for output power. You’re 100% correct that hill climb is also a (and probably better) proxy for power, but the results of a hill climb test are hard to put into a 10 word headline. For example, my Mom understands that a 60 mph scooter is stupid-fast. But she wouldn’t know that a 6-second hill climb time is fast, without looking at a graph or a table full of data about other scooters. There are also folks who have access to places to ride faster legally, and they need to know. For me, I applaud the folks who ride in the UK where it’s not legal at all, and I support those who replace car trips in the US with scooter trips, and who do so at car-like city speeds of 25mph, as long as they’re doing it responsibly, which I believe is not only possible, but also the way the vast majority of scooter riders ride. Thanks for sharing your concern so I could respond. -Paul

Most of us couldn't care less what arbitrary top speed the government decided. That's a big reason why.
@jg_ultra3 ай бұрын
@@independentmind85 Precisely. People need to remember that laws are not just enforced selectively, they are _specified_ on the basis that they will be enforced selectively, and need to be easily enforced when they are. That 30MPH speed limit sign you just passed isn't to keep you from doing 31MPH; it is to make it easy to enforce the law to punish someone doing much more than that, or doing barely more than that but in a way which is irresponsible and dangerous.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide it's attitudes like this that result in ordinances that ban eScooters, eBikes and others from city trails and roads. Accidents that are a result of speed can result in licensing and the need to have liability insurance. 20 mph is a safe and reasonable speed especially when used around pedestrians and cyclists.
