Thats really cool. They also made TVs for Sears (Like that Silvertone Shango did a video on) before they were bought out by Warwick.

Have you personally done the fly surgery of replacing the mica cap in the IF cans? Or sub another can in and retune? It’s kinda a unique looking radio!

I have done many SMD surgeries. It's not something I enjoy and the radio I have no attachment to, so I'll find someone who wants it.

Shango Dan would get all excited over that radio I've been out to a San Diego a few times, I have family out there. There that real expensive restaurant out in that Coranado hotel , real nice steak dinner

Hey J.P., Just an FYI the firecracker style electrolytic caps are still available today.
@JordanPier Жыл бұрын
Yep. Had a terminal strip and caps on hand. This was quicker for me!

@@JordanPier Yeah, and half the price---those new multisection caps are expensive!

These "short superhet" sets didn't come with tuned loop antennas, instead they came with a hank of wire that was usually 20-25'. Even when in optimal condition, they sure didn't pick up many stations. Still, an interesting radio

Can't save 'em all unfortunately. Wonder if Seth from "Mister Radio" would want it? He's fixed several clock radios before for the museum he volunteers at. IIRC he's in the San Diego area.

When that radio got sold back in the 1950’s, the manufacturers should have added a roll of toilet paper as a much needed accessory since that clock radio is such a turd!
