I've worked as a cashier, as a part time job when I was a university student...it was at a a busy SHELL Fuel station along with a shop in it..I was handling the cashing for the fuel sales, oils, car wash, shop etc...at times people would try tricks here and there to try to get me to open the cash register, but i wouldn't have it...if they had a problem they could go complain to the owner as I was having no B.S from scammers...when you're in a job where you handle cash, you need to be very slick

I had a guy who was leaning in close, talking and distracting me while he switched a 20 dollar bill I had just given him back for change with a one dollar bill . Then he accused me of giving him a dollar back instead of 20 . My advice to cashiers is to stop , get a manager , and immediately have them count your drawer down to figure out if you indeed have a cash difference in your drawer . I’ve also had cashiers short changing customers and keeping the change as well . Thievery is so rampant but karma eventually will catch up these people .

One guy tried doing this to me, he waited until it got busy and came to me. Asked for a drink and gave me a 20, he asked for it back cause he said he forgot he needed it for gas. So I gave him the 20 back and took the 19 and asked for the 19 back cause he said I didn't give him the 20 or whatever and I said no I definitely did. And he kept insisting and I was getting pissed and I said look sir, im very busy please let me assist them then I can help you. Then he got angry with me and I didn't take it anymore and raised my voice at him and said I could call the police so we could resolve this and he said fuck you and left. First, that person is trash. Second and so on..that’s why you deal with ONE customer at at time. If you can’t, you simply need to learn how to keep track of your transactions. I’m SO GLAD that where I work, we IMMEDIATELY have to drop $100 and $50 bills. I work graveyards 10pm-5am). If ANYONE tries to add something just before I give them their change back, I don’t stop.
