**Medication I’m on: Metformin Along with the medication, drastically changing what I eat and incorporating intermittent fasting I’ve seen improvements in my blood sugar levels over the past week. I’ve also lost 7 pounds so far since being diagnosed which I know is beneficial as well.

I tried monkfruit and it is amazing. I now use almond flour in place of wheat flour. Please share with us your journey. I knew better too, so the first thing I did was get a diabetic cookbook and learned how to adapt my own recipes so I could eat them. It felt good to know I was making my own recipes, but with adaptations.

How do you like Monkfruit. I joined a diabetes 101 Facebook group that’s been pretty helpful. A lot of people there mentioned monkfruit too. I’ll probably order some and a cookbook this weekend as well. Thank you for the suggestions and yes I’ll definitely share soon. Just have to take some time to adjust 😊

@@TammiciaRochelle I find I really love the monkfruit, if recipe calls for 1 cup sugar, you use 1 cup monkfruit. You take all the time you need for adjustment, cuz its hard but it does ease up a lot. I do miss my oatmeal, too.

My husband has had type 1 since he was a child and he does have to use insulin etc not diet related just related to his pancreas not working. I’ll look forward to the diabetic recipes! My grandpa had type two due to his pancreas just not being able to keep up with all the unhealthy food he ate. He started walking 5-6 miles every day he lost 200lbs and no longer had to take met Forman or any other diabetic issues he completely cured it with healthy eating and exercise and his pancreas began making insulin on his own again. I’m wishing you the best of luck on your journey. It’s not a death sentence and once you get your health under control you may be able to enjoy those foods on holidays once again bc you’d be eating healthy the rest of the time. He died eating ice cream lol he was able to live the rest of his life healthy and happy and I’m hoping you can adapt to your new normal God has a plan for you don’t worry you can’t even see what God is going to use you to do. Wishing you health and prosperity!

I have just recently started looking at KZbin for cooking videos and came across you & subscribed! I enjoy your videos & learn from them. I have the utmost respect for you taking time away from doing the videos & taking care of yourself first. I'll be praying the new lifestyle transition goes smoothly for you. I look forward to more videos when you're ready.

You will adapt those recipes, help yourself and others. It'll be fine.Im the same way about artificial sweetners, never found one I liked. But haven't tried monkfruit.Im not diabetic but it runs in my family as well and I'd love to learn some healthy recipes irregardless.I think there's alot of people in the same boat,as in pre diabetic or newly diabetic that need good healthy recipes. You could do it,if you feel led.Its all gonna work out in your favor, either way love.🙂♥️

Hi Shakira! Nice to meet you 😀 I'll be sharing some diabetic friendly recipes soon once I get the hang of it all myself. Its definitely a shock at first and a process along the way. I have a Reli-On monitor that I use. Its small enough to carry everywhere I go. I try to keep my total carbs less than 30 per meal and less than 20 per snack. I fast from 7pm to 11am on the days that im doing what im supposed to do. LOL!! Is your son type 1 or type 2? I don't know the science behind it all but it has drastically stabilized my numbers. If he's on Facebook there's a group called Diabetes 101 for Beginners. Its been helpful and supportive.
