Manchester-born writer, CA MacRae, met with Carolyn Reynolds, Executive Producer of Coronation Street over a script she wrote in 2004. Inspired by Carolyn's positive comments C.A. MacRae began research years later when life enabled her. So if you love Downton Abbey and conspiracy theories, then you will love C.A. MacRae's Gemini Complex, The Cabal: After the final demise of the Cathars at Chateau Mount Montségur in the south of France in 1244, a heroic rescue by a Knights Templar took place. Six hundred and fifty-three years later a murder and spate of suspicious deaths of the clergy become linked in the south of France. Flo’s first day (10th November 1918) at Chandringham doesn’t work out quite how she imagined. A bright but humble farm girl finds herself thrust into the upper echelons of society. Rather than being trained in the everyday tasks of a maid, she’s told she needs to leave her old life behind and immerse herself in the life of the aristocracy, as Lady Mary Tavistock. Her world is turned upside down, Flo realises she’s not the person she’s always thought she was, and to make matters worse she finds out her life is endangered. In order to make sense of who she really is and what her purpose in life is, she’s sent to Switzerland to meet others of her kind. The Gemini Complex, The Cabal is the first book of a trilogy. It's going to be released later this year.

The City of Manchester has not got a population of 2.8 million residents it only has 580,000 citizens, you are getting mixed up with Greater Manchester which is made up of a load of independent towns and cities not connected to the City of Manchester
@ilqar8874 ай бұрын
@@peterwilliamallen1063 why do they call it greater manchester then¿
@peterwilliamallen10634 ай бұрын
@@ilqar887 Do some reserch on it, the only connection between Greater Manchester a Metropolitan County and the City of Manchester is one single word " Manchester" where as the City of Manchchester has been arround for Centuries Greater Manchester has only been in existance since 1974 and was set up under the local government reorgnisation taking area from other local shire council, in the West Midlands it took areas from Warwickshire, Staffordshire nd Worcestershire, in the case of Greater Manchester it took over parts of South East Lancashire and North East Cheshire and was to be called South East Lancashire and North East Cheshire Metropolitan County or SELNEC for short taking over the job of running the Police, Fire, Ambulance, Transport and the Airports of which the local PTE Buses were called SELNEC PTE, due to both Lancashire and Cheshire being ancient high profile shire counties they both complained of this new Metro Council using their names in it's title so what happened then it was decided to rename the Metro Council " Greater Manchester", the PTE buses remained being called SELNEC for years and then changed to Greater Manchester Transport PTE this was set up with other Metro Councils in 1974 as the West Midlands, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, South Yorkshire,West Yorkshire and Tyne and Wear and one in Scotland, Greater Gasgow. So the same happened in the West Midlands where by in 1974 it was going to be called Greater Birmingham, but other towns in the area complained so it was renamed the West Midlands Metropolitan County, so to answer your question, first Greater Manchester is NOT a City and is not counted in a postion of of a City in Status as Greater Manchester is a Metropolitan County Council containg many independent Towns and Cities which have nothing to do with the City of Manchester in it's area and 2nd it is the City of Manchester an actual City that is refered to as " Manchester" not Greater Manchester. The same occures in the West Midlands, it contains independent Town's and Cities in it's boundary nothing to do with Birmingham such as the City of Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry and large Towns such as West Bromwich, Walsall, Solihull and Stourbridge. So that is the answer plus due to the population of Birmingham being 1.5 million Citizens it is the UK's second largest City and Second City, the West Midlands Couties population of 2,919,600 makes it the second largest Metro County Council and the popultion of the City of Manchester is 580,000 making it the 6th largest City inthe UK and the popultion of Greater Manchester is 2,867,800 making it the 3rd largest metro county council, so no Greater Manchester is not Manchester, it is the City of Manchester that is refered to as " Manchester" the other Towns with in Greater Manchester are refered to as Stockport Greater Manchester or the City of Salford Greter Manchester, but they are nothing to do with the City of Manchester, and I come from Birmingham a know this, so should you.

Interesting how they skirt around Piccadilly Gardens, always just managing to keep it out of shot. It's a dump, full of spice addicts, beggars, drug dealers and violent thugs. As a Mancunian it breaks my heart to admit it but Manchester is not a tourist destination. Public transport is appalling dirty and overpriced, very few eateries are worth the money and beggers using the city centre as public toilet, even in broad daylight, make it unsuitable for travelling families. Locals have urged politicians to do more, but they will never be voted out so there doesn't seem to be much incentive. Perhaps if people stop visiting and spending their hard earned cash eventually something will be done, after all money talks even to Labour councils.

My wife and I work in Manchester city centre, we live two miles outside it. Just before Christmas my wife walked her usual route to work after getting off the bus, Princess Street, close to her office. A man was stood in the street, she was nervous but carried on walking, suddenly he dropped his kecks and defecated in front of her. This was 8:30 on the morning. She kept walking, trying to ignore him, but was disgusted and frightened. Not worth reporting it, trust me. I’ve been on Piccadilly Gardens on a sunny afternoon, when some pie eyed, pissed up, bum decided to get his knob out and water the grass. There were loads of kids around. A group of women rightly went bananas, they got on their mobiles straight away, I don't know if the police pulled him. I would never recommend Manchester as a place to visit, it's rank. I know what I'm talking about, I was born here. Sorry but a few ginger beards in the “Northern Quarter” (actually Shudehill but that doesn't sound as good) does not make it hip. The council need to stop wasting money on propaganda and deal with the serious issues this city has.

@@notreyf Lived hear all my life and yes you do get lots of idiots and mentally ill peaple hanging around. If society hadn't decided to cut services so much over the last ten years then this increase of homeless and unstable PEAPLE being eyesores and UNSTABLE, would be how it was back then. If you hate the place your born in so much why not move away. See how bad every where else is. It's how things are sadly. Sorry some lunatic did what he did in front of your wife. Funnily enough I was walking through the woods today (short cut in prestwich and answered the call of nature) a young couple caught me. I was embarrassed and apologised, they started laughing at me. Still it wasn't in the middle of town. Children about etc. Like I said thus town has never done anything good for Mr but it's home and that's enough for me to love it. Warts and all. The grass is always greener my friend. Go elsewhere and you will see. Take care.

I've lived in Brighton, much nicer but had to move back home. Don't tell me about cutbacks when the Labour council squander thousands upon thousands repairing stupid electric fountains and building carbuncles like the hideous library walks; that monstrosity with the sliding electronic doors, it's ruined one of the most peaceful and architecturally accomplished parts of our city. Anyway pal, thanks for replying, life would be boring if we all agreed. Look after yourself, we're living in interesting times, we all need to take care of each other.

@@notreyf Very true we do need each other and always have. Regards cut backs I meant to actual useful things. There was never this amount of homeless and mentally unstable on our streets before .it's very sick. That guy sitting in street. He's not anti social he's disturbed. It's a strange way to raise he'll. He can't be mentally balanced. Anyway alk the best to you and your Mrs mate. Good night.
