I recently learned that hemp hearts can be blended, like one would do with cashew etc, to add a healthy, creamy element to sauces. I use it when making a vegan no-oil ranch dressing. This "rice" looks next level, Wil.
@sarahdee3743 жыл бұрын
@@Maggie-zr2ow I don't think it's necessary, they're pretty soft. But I generally soak them a bit in the liquid ingredients just to add to the blend-ability (new word!). I like the results and the fact that they add a healthy fat and lots of other nutritional benefits.

Made his today. Instead of carrot I used red bell pepper as my better half does not like very small cubed carrots, reminds her of something she says. I also used capers as I didn't have hemp hearts and used baby spinach as I was also right out of basil. However, it turned out scrumptious. Thanks for the idea, chef.

Made this for dinner tonight. I was looking for a way to eat a bunch of veggies for dinner that wasn’t a salad. I’m not vegan so I put some thinly sliced leftover steak on top and it was delicious. I added some toasted rice powder (from a Thai recipe) which added some extra crunch and “fried rice” flavor. My husband gobbled up his portion and he is picky with vegetables. Didn’t even realize he was eating hemp hearts.

I made this for dinner last night, but since I didn't have chili oil or hoisin I used the same sauce as for the 15 min noodle dish and it worked perfectly. My husband had never heard of cauliflower rice and he was amazed. It was filling but not heavy. I also didn't have any broccolini (used it up for the 15 min noodles) so I subbed thinly sliced baby bok choy and also for more color added diced bell pepper (yellow). Ricing the cauliflower doesn't take that long and after you prep the vegetables it is minutes away from a prepared dish. Thanks again!
