Since I still can't do much at the lathe I decided to spend a few hours fabricating a quick and simple camera gantry to expand the angles I can get at the lathe. One surprising benefit is that it looks like it might work for some shots from the new PM 2014 lathe as well. If you have questions that I didn't answer, feel free to contact me. Thanks for watching. I feel you brother. Arthritis in my left wrist means I turn 3 days a week and suffer for 4. Not going to stop love it too much. I think your concern about us getting a better view is commendable.

That's a great idea Billy! I have one on a pole that I can move around, but I think I want something mounted to the ceiling. The one on the pole seems to always be in the way. Have a blessed day brother! - Ed

Thanks Billy. I just spent two days trying to figure out how to make an overhead gantry or jib for my flexshaft motors. It's tricky because I need a large range of movement and there are plenty of obstacles and constraints. So I watched a lot of videos and was getting further and further away from a solution. Just found your video and, although it's not what I need, its uniqueness made me realise I was thinking inside the box. 30 minutes later and at least now I have a workable design and the materials to make it.

Very cool with great reach. Sometimes I wish I had something like this but that's as far as it's going to go for me. Enjoy your creation, Billy! Phil

After watching your video from earlier in the year and Gords recent video, I am at long last in the process of making an articulated camera holder and by turning and fitting in a couple of sphere's, I will be able to get, I hope, finer adjustments....I knew that sphere jig I made would come in handy one day 😀 Cheers and take care mate, Bram

Hi Billy, Looks great. If I built a gantry I'd only need a 12" ruler for the size of my workshop. LOL. Take care Billy. Cheers, Huw
