Love it! England non essential retail has gone on lockdown....I am feeling quite non essential BUT my creativity tells me otherwise! Lockdown gives me time to prove I am far from non-essential! Washi tape trick- a lot of the time I use a glue stick to apply glue to the washi - then put it on my page. Defeats the purpose of it being super easy and quick to add to a piece, but it also sticks it a lot better than the glue it comes with. And in the interest of buying cheap supplies- Target brand glue sticks seem to do really well for adhering and staying. Just an FYI- while you are buying weird supplies, check it out. LOL

Sometimes I just brush a thin layer of matte medium over the tape so it sticks! Definitely a common problem!!

So, what other backgrounds could you use for marker drawings? You couldn't use collage could you? You would have to find an adhesive that you could use alcohol markers on top of? I may have to do some experimenting🤔

@@kaseyp2988 that’s correct, you can’t, sorry I wasn’t clear there! I usually only use alcohol markers as try base as they can’t really go on top of anything! But you can put things on top of THEM like colored pencils, pastels and inks! I put them in the drawing category and not Mixed Media category. Really cute picture and, yes, very much how I feel about this year as well. But....... O. M. G the scissors!!!! Did you NOT hear me yelling at you to just tear that 💩 off like normal people do.? Mixed media does not mean channel Martha Stewart. Did you know it's against the law in Japan to cut washi tape with scissors? As punishment you get your thumbs cut off so you can never use scissors again. Yeah! That's right that's a lie, but it should be a thing. Scissors on washi tape!! Now I've seen it all. 🙄😄😉
