Thanks this is very helpful. Due to the fact of the pandemic I cannot often warmup at school before a lesson. The mouthpiece buzzing exercise really helps awaken the high register. This is awesome video :)

As long as they are some DnD 5th edition books in the back, you know this is gonna be a good video.

I'll have to give these a try! If I have to warm up fast, I usually do a Carmen Caruso (sp?) exercise that involves playing the start note with a breath attack (again, not sure about the terminology here, lol). It's always fun to try new things and like you said, my warm-ups have definitely evolved over the years!

The Caruso technique is my ultimate go-to most days! Absolutely love that routine. I usually do that routine (with some small variations) and then that bleeds into a full fundamentals session, but this little video has been my "gotta get to work quick" sort of warm-up, haha. Glad you know and enjoy Caruso!!

@@alyssawidener8669 Nice!! I only know one Caruso exercise, but it's amazing how much it has increased my stamina and my range!

That's great! If you're interested, Julie Landsman teaches Caruso at Juilliard and has a KZbin series about it that you can watch!

Do you guys like Laquered or unlaquered? Fixed or detachable bell? Hand hammered or spun bells? Kruspe or geyer?

There are so many well built horns out there, but I do love the unlacquered look. And I'm partial to Geyers. :)

Do you do some breath exercises? If you do I think it would be interesting for all of us.

I don't do them daily, but I do have a couple that I go through when I really feel my air support beginning to cause problems in my playing. So I will definitely try to get to this! Thank you for the idea!

Hey Alyssa, I know this is a little off topic from your video (sorry about that), but I'm a horn player myself and have had trouble asking for help on certain things because the lack of someone to help me, so I was just curious if I could ask a question or two about my playing as I've been a bit stuck lately.

Hey! I'd be happy to help as much as I can, but I will warn you it's hard for me to help over text without actually hearing people play in a lesson-type setting. You can private message me your questions on Instagram or Twitter though, and I'll try my best to do what I can! Links for social media accounts are in the description, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. :)
