Do not buy this. It’s completely disfunctional and way too expensive. No instructions are provided with the camera or by the dealers that install them. I found the instructions online and got it connected and working but it doesn’t stay connected. The software is junk. It also resets the password often. I even had two IT specialists check it to see if I was doing anything wrong even though I was sure I wasn’t. They both recommended I get rid of it because it’s pointless. I only bought this because I thought it would work better with my Nissan vehicle. It does not. Nissan should stop pushing this part. It’s a disgrace.

I realize Nissan is going for the money for dealer installed, but it would be really nice to understand if there is a Nissan specific usb or similar power connector up there for the do it yourself crowd.. i recently purchased a Nissan, i own an expensive cam already and i really just want too know if i can get power up there without having to get a dongar adapter or long cable routing. My truck has a camera that shows the front, back and 360 view when I reverse. Why don't car makers build a recorder into their systems to record this. The cameras are already in place, shouldn't need a dash cam.

Nissan stated via Facebook messenger that you can live view from anywhere however, when the vehicle is turned off, the hotspot needed for the live feed via the cloud turns off and it appears the camera turns goes into a sleep mode or turns off. Anyone have a solution? Trying to save a trip to the Dealership.

The camera was mounted, i have the app and Device ID but I need the Security Key which is sandwiched between the mount and device. I can’t remove it- is there any advice on how to find this key?

Hello, Claire. The Drive Recorder can be detached from the bracket, there are two tabs on both sides which need to be pressed together and at same time then pull the camera towards the headliner. Then to attach again it is necessary to mount the Dash Camera into the brackets sliding downwards with the camera on the bracket to sits on it, it will sound a “Click” to confirm camera perfectly attached to the bracket, and to make sure was sitting properly please pull the camera upwards to confirm there is no movement. There are too many other brands to give my very hard earned cash to. It's not Nissan anymore. It's Never-Again-Nissan from here on out.

I just bought a 2023 Nissan Platinum and it has dual dash cam in it. I could not make it connected to my phone so i could see or view the recorded . Or do it with my phone at all. We went back to dealership and they did not even know how to operate it and they dont have security and id key they said. They said its new add ons and they dont know how to

I want to use a microsd card larger than the 16gb that comes with it. I have tried other microsd cards and the unit gives an error beep. Are there any cards that work with this or do they need to be formatted in a specific way?

I have this camera installed on my Pathfinder and today is the day I need it so I downloaded the video from the car and copied it to my computer and played the video to get the plate number of the offending party. It was taken around 4pm in bright daylight and the plate number cannot be read! What an expensive piece of trash. After having a Viofo 4k dashcam on my Sentra for years I find it incredulous that a new Nissan-branded dashcam gives such disappointing output. I don't think it's even 1080p or if it is the quality is so low you can't even read the plate number on the car in front of you. Is this really what we should expect from this dashcam?

Yes they can install it but won’t be able to help you set it up or connect. Nissan has no idea what they’re doing. They bought these from a South Korean company and then called them “specific to Nissan”. None of the software is Nissan owned so they are clueless. Terrible privacy risk too.

Don't Buy, its trash.. I bought it and got it installed on my 2023 Infiniti Qx60, its recommended dash cam for my car. I thought it will work better than other dash cams since its Nissan! Very poor software experience, the camera worked well for one week, now parking mode is not working anymore! The camera works only when driving! Not sure if I can return it and buy a 3rd party camera! I spent a lot on it, state of the art cameras are sold half price at Amazon

This camera is beyond frustrating. It’s expensive and does not work correctly. Almost impossible to set up, once it’s set up, it does not stay working long. Sounds like a really annoying door bell as you drive down the road. I love my 23 frontier but this camera is terrible.

I just purchased a brand new Nissan Pathfinder Platinum with the mDriveRecorder install by the Manufacturer. Today I decided to try finding out how this Cam work. 3 hrs later with my car running and wasting Gas, I could not get this thing to work, except blinking Blue and Red lights next to REC button. I even went and subscribe with the App, and still get can not get it to connect to my iPhone. I check my WiFi and Bluetooth to see if anything paired up, just to find out that the SN/Device # is listed secured with all other WiFi Accounts. I tap on it just as I will do when switching to other accounts, it opens, but asking for device " Password " Can someone tell me please what is the God forsaken "Password " this thing is asking for? My Dealership is no help, because they are not familiar with how this thing work. Thank you

It doesn't work. No one knows how to get it running including the dealership. Continually says incorrect password. Won't connect to Cloud. Turns off when you leave car so won't record breaking attempts which is what I bought it for. Wifi messes up phone and car wifi on Infiniti QX 60. MOTREX IGNORES emails asking for help so there is no customer service. Not Infiniti/Nissan usual standards.

Nissan, you can do better. What kind of chip does the camera have. What is the maximum aperture? These are what define low light performance. No App listed in Google Play, and numerous posts from owners stating their dealer cannot help with set up or connection. $300 accessory, $45k car and no support. Up your game.

Lastly, you can find the companion app by searching "mDriveRecorder App" in the Google Play Store per instructions in the Quick Reference Guide, pg.2.
