Quick Method For Changing Jointer/Planer Blades

Bought the planer pals. I will never attempt to change either jointer or planer blades without them. Made this 100 times easier. Thank you.

The adjustment screws that the blade sit on are they all the way in?

New blades made it quieter. Do you have a jig for sharpening the old ones?

Keith Wills I don’t have a jig. Going to get one made it just purchase a cheap jig.

Hey Cougar Football. Thank you for taking time to watch the video. I honestly don't remember what I had done with the hammer. I likely used it on something else in the shop and just put it there. Never noticed it before...lol

@@MartyOfAllTrades Well, I’m trying now to remove these wedges/gibs and they won’t budge- I might need that hammer.

@@woodandtable well I am not sure but that would be a good use of the hammer. I have had them stick before. You could tap gently on the round head and see if that works or a flat chisel to gently break it loose. They can and do get pretty tight in that V groove area. Hope this helps

My wedges are stuck good.. Been hitting them with PB Blaster every night for a month, tried everything I have read and nothing works.. any tips on getting stuck wedges out?

Wow. That is tough. I would try using a piece of wood and see if you can tap them. Might even have to use some brass

@@MartyOfAllTrades Thanks, I did try that previously. I went as far as smacking it using a 4” brick chisel out of frustration. I think I just wedged them in more.

To get my wedges out I had to turn the set screws located at the base of the knives. Once I did that the knives and wedges came out.
