What tools do I need for the Quick ‘n’ Easy?
You need a drill, ideally a hammer drill to get through your wall. Heck, a nut driver will even work in a pinch. That’s it! We’ve included…
• A pre-installed 110 - 120v electrical cord, UL and amperage approved for the unit. No need to fetch one from the store, strip it, and attempt to connect it.
• A pre-installed communications cable for the inside and outside units. No need to awkwardly thread the cord through the back of the indoor unit and use your bifocals do properly attach each connector to the indoor unit terminal block. And, no need to install the cord on the outdoor unit terminal block, either. No need to worry about the order of the wires or the grounding. We’ve done that for you. Just twist to connect the male connector onto the female connector located at the outdoor unit.
• The hole saw, necessary for getting a hole through the wall for running the line set. This hole saw is better than any we’ve found in the market. It goes through concrete, drywall, brick, and wood.
• Drill bits, used to put the wall anchors into the wall for the indoor unit mounting bracket and the remote control bracket. We’ve included both a mason bit and a standard bit, so for either type of wall, you’re covered.
• A Phillips bit, used to screw in the screws for the indoor unit mounting bracket and remote control bracket. So, you won’t even need a screwdriver.
• We didn’t include a hex wrench like on our standard model. Why? It’s not needed! The valves are already opened on the outdoor unit. You just need to screw together the line set using the preinstalled self-sealing quick connectors on both the high and low-pressure refrigerant lines.
• A miniature level, for making sure the indoor unit mounting bracket is level.
• Gloves, to make it easier to connect the self-sealing connectors on the line set by hand. No wrenches are needed!
• Pre-installed solar whips with MC4 connectors attached to the corresponding MC4 connectors on the outside unit, and a DC disconnect to attach to these whips. Just add solar!
• What other tools aren’t necessary for installing the Airspool Quick ‘n’ Easy? Among other things, a vacuum pump, a nitrogen tank, a manifold gauge set, wrenches (including no need for a torque wrench), wire cutters, wire strippers, and a crimping tool. These really add a lot of time, effort, and money which now isn’t necessary
