Straight key. I gotta do a straight key activation. I'm no pro, but you looked tense on the straight key. When I get tense I have a harder time sending. I shake it out and then I'm much smoother. Great little video, thanks for sharing. The "closed captioning" you and others put in your videos was very helpful when I was learning CW. It can be frustrating trying to understand what someone sent when in reality they messed up, and it was helpful to see that shown.

Thank you kindly for the comment Todd. I Very glad it is found helpful. I’d have to agree with you that I am tense. I can definitely see that in this video. I also felt tense hihi. I’ll keep practicing and hopefully get there. The heavy straight keys usually at a QTH are much easier to get a rhythm with. The lighter portable one’s seem harder (for me). But portable is what I’m all about. So that’s what I’ll practice. 73! Hope to Q soon!

I updated my comment in case it came across too critical. Honestly you sounded fine, but I recognize that tension because I do it too. We're probably not the only two ;) I agree, the little keys are tougher to use, and/or easier to be tense on. But they can be just as smooth for me as the bigger key at home. That's all. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work. 73@@KD2YDN

I have the same key, I think it needs a wider base though. Great video, thanks for sharing. de W2MSA
