AEW had best tone in my opinion. Nice and throaty when given some throttle. S&S seemed a little clanky and poppy. Too on the high end tone. At least from the video perspective. Thanks for giving us the comparisons.

I've only heard the stock muffler. The 101 AEW, and the S&S in person. But the AEW 101 is by far the loudest / most aggressive.

For my densely condo's neighborhood, only the stock sound level would be acceptable to other residents. Fortunately, RE is not bought for hp performance, and the stock sound is already good.

Ultimately, really like the S&S. Don't really like the increased idle sound level. But, when it winds up, it gets tighter and sounds more urgent - maybe even quieter than at idle (?). AEW at idle, S&S for the rest! Either way, though, saving weight, potentially getting better response, and opening the door for a few more hp (with the right tweaks) is never bad. Thanks for the video. This is how an exhaust video *should* be done! Don't have all freakin day to watch someone unbolt and rebolt!

I have the S&S on my 2020 INT , beautiful sound not too loud in the "burbs , plus I have DNA filter and Booster plug , goes well and lovely note when engine braking !

I agree. Downunder, the S&S is twice the price of the T102. Personally, I also prefer the etched branding of the T102 compared to the “stuck-on” badge of the S&S.

I saw on line, I think it was Amazon you can still buy the old trumpet mufflers all of us used in the 60's. They are around $60.00 each plus shipping. It would be neat to hear a set of those on a RE twin.

Oh man, thank you for the comparisons, those S&S's just sound like the 'Mutts Nuts', just love the note and tone that they give out. But overall, for 'bang for buck' etc. the AEW's are probably a better choice for cost over improvement?

I think AEW is the best. But, I have seen different folks saying the S&S doesn't cause any fuel complications. When you install AEW are they hiccup free?

Being inside is hard to tell.. do what one MC mechanic did with his 650 Int, made a vid about it. He drilled a 10mm hole in the stock unit. Sounded pretty good and cost nothing.

Hi guys. Thanks for the awesome video. On the white and blue bike; are those stock seat cowls? It might just be the angle, but they look different to me than the stock ones I've seen. Thanks for any info.

So, there are 2 seat cowls. The old stock one was the “solo” seat and cowl. Now all GTs come with a “dual” seat and this is the cowl that fits that seat. It’s great because it’s easy to remove and you still have the functionality of a passenger seat.

Both slipons don't match the chrome stock system exhaust. I like the sound but the look will bother me if I put this on my GT.

Everyone should kinda be good with the stocks. Granted that they are not loud but they have a sweeter rumble than literally any other third party exhaust I have heard (live on streets) on the RE 650 twins

This really is a waste of time. You need an SPL meter to read how loud each is and it need to be done outside as well the meter reading need to be equidistant. The S&S sounded hideous because the recorder is limiting the output volume so as not to cause clipping and distort the signal. Ill leave it at that.
