At the time of this release march 77 rca released suspicion as a single and it got to no 9 in the uk charts...Its only love and sound of your cry was not released in the uk, So this was a first time release for these two songs in u.k...... high heel sneakers had never been released on lp before.....it hurts me had the jordinares removed.......long lonely highway was supposed to be the us single version take 1 that was never released in the uk. but rca messed that up and the normal lp version is on this album..it was also the first time that thye first time ever i saw your face was released on a lp

Eddie, thank you so much for sharing all that info!! I'm going to pin this so everyone sees it. I hope no one thinks we were knocking the album too much, I just knew John would react strongly at first to such a different tracklisting, and that everyone might find that reaction as entertaining as I do, lol!

@@EAPSociety Well i do agree with john that the track listing is very haphazard ....it would have been better if it had been in a chronological running order...But at the time we were grateful in the uk that 'Its only love /sound of your cry' was released six years after it had been released in the usa..This album was a mid-price album so it didn't brake the bank lol...........Interesting fact 'I just cant help believin /how the web was woven' was was released as a single in 1971(it got to no 6 in the uk charts) instead of its only love that had performed poorly in the states... so that's why rca uk chose not to release it at the time

@eddievotex768 That *is* interesting - thank you! And I wonder if these are in some kind of release order from the time (since it's not the "chronological as recorded" that we're used to). It's also pretty cool that this is from 1977, and that Elvis saw the release, too!

That's how I remembered it too,as a rarities album, fun to see your reactions though, you guys came of age after Elvis death when such compilations were done much better , before Ernst it was like the wild West..lol

@@EAPSociety Another fun fact from the time was it's only love was eventually released as a single in the uk in 1980 it got to no 3 in the british charts....its flip side was beyond the reef and was released to promote the elvis aron presley silver box set......On the whole elvis singles charted much higher in the uk than they did in america during the 70's also rca uk picked out some album tracks for single release in between the us main releases...like...my boy that got to no 5 in the uk before it was released as a single in the us...also in 1975 england released the sun collection album that later on in 1976 the usa released has the sun sessions... anyway that's enough from me for now....i enjoy your shows immensely keep up the good work😀

the "Elvis In Demand" album takes me back to 1977, when i bought the album in a record store (in Norway), and it was played to pieces during 1977-78.... one of those memorable albums for me from way back then... the cover art was such a legendary one... really loved it, still do.... 😋

Hi, Helge! That's cool, thank you for sharing those memories! And I'm looking forward to hearing it, I just knew John's initial reaction to the order would be entertaining, lol!

I rememember buying that album " Elvis in demand" on its release back in "77" !! At that time being a new fan it had a lot of rarities on it. I do believe Todd gave Elvis ten copies of this album to autograph. A few years ago i did see a signed copy of the album. Whether this was Elvis signature is another question! Keep up the excellent videos coming, always a pleasure to watch.🙂

The Elvis in Demand album was very welcome release at the time most of those songs weren't well known and were fan favourites of the day. It plays well and shows different sides of Elvis. The most diverse singer of all time. Bing had one way of singing. Elvis had unlimitless way and I say that as a big fan of Bing. I actually prefer him to Sinatra and Dean Martini..who always sounded drunk.

Hi, Paul! Yeah, I do love the diverse group of songs, and it'll probably hit well on listening; I just saw the tracklist and knew John would react strongly, so I had to read it for him, lol! And my non-Elvis fav may be Dean, but I absolutely LOVE Bing, especially this time of year! 😁

"It Hurts Me" 10:02 ... featuring a unique/unusual mono sound, because it's missing the right channel from stereo, resulting in both channels containing the left channel from stereo. Did I describe that properly? 🧐

Mixed bag for sure. The flow would be interesting, but after some whiskey it doesn’t matter anymore. 😂
