In 2009, I came home from a deployment and my oldest son, who was 3 or 4 at the time, wouldn’t eat for almost 2 weeks... Being a father I was obviously concerned, so I asked him about it and his answer really hit me hard… He said, “Dad, if I eat I’ll grow up and if I grow up I’ll become a daddy. And if I become a daddy, I’ll have to leave my family.” My boys barely knew who I was and I couldn’t let them grow up without a father... I realized at that moment my family needed me a lot more than the Navy needed another SEAL. So I put in for retirement the next day… Back then I knew I wanted to be with my family more than anything, so I made changes in my life that allowed me to be at home. We all want more time to spend with the people we love or doing the things we love. That’s why I’m here to help! That's why I am giving you my top 3 training videos (for FREE) to help you learn how you can stay at home, and save time and money while you improve your shooting! August 1962 USAF M16 qualifying, instructor talked about not holding your breath. He taught us to squeeze off a round during our exhale rhythm. Qualified expert for the next 21 years. Probably because I really enjoy the shooting sport and still shoot to this day! Really enjoy your videos. I do fairly well instinct shooting 95% inside 8 and 9 ring with my 9mm and 45acp at 7 yards. After watching your front sight video that is my current practice method and I really think it’s helping!!!! Thanks….

Wow Chris, never heard about the term belly breathing, amazing, you can see barely your chest moving. Outstanding.

I learned about this just a few years ago. It has really improved my accuracy. The other key part of this for me was to relax my body when breaking the shot and during the shot, (follow through).

Being taught diaphragm breathing to play woodwinds in school band was one of the most impactful lessons I've experienced. It was wild to me that I was BREATHING incorrectly. It just seems so second nature. But yes absolutely, belly breathing, or diaphragm breathing, is the healthiest and most effective form.

I was taught to put it down range after a 4 second exhaust by the Dutch military. It's working for me. And yes.... I shoot long range. A long range. :-)

Chris: does it make any sense if you're trying to develop long range target shooting skills, to start with a .22 cal rifle, then "advance" to a. .556 or .30 cal, or whatever?

Hey Chris thank you sir for your channel and assistance. Do you mean that for us beginner shooters - long range shots or shooting in general would be to adhere to a diaphragm or belly breathe (like a singer does)? And snipers follow a different technique because of their laying flat? Just wanted to get more clarity or maybe you expand on this in another vid. Thank you sir

Great video. I guess I'm one of the few who habitually belly breathes. I've never understood why people don't do that. To me, it's much more natural.
@joe5495494 жыл бұрын
Lot of people do it because they are holding in their stomach to try and hide their paunch and by doing this it makes their chest look larger and they think they are more intimidating to others.

Chris any advice on qualifying with the red dot. I can’t shoot with that thing to save my life. I’m fine on the Acog. That red dot just keeps moving on me.
@smokysantana5 жыл бұрын
killiron if the dot is moving your head is too.
@RangerCaptain11A5 жыл бұрын
1) learn to focus on the target, and work to have both eyes open - the goal is a clear target, with the dot hovering on the target. that eliminates 75% of the wobble. 2) intentionally wobble the dot around the target, like a wide U shape (some prefer a figure 8) 3) take up all the trigger slack as you wobble away from the center and press as you move back to center. your 'surprise break' will happen in the zone. 4) stay on the dot as you follow through the recoil, refocus on the target, repeat the process.

"...unless you're laying down on your belly, it's not going to affect you.", but the thumbnail of this video shows someone shooting while laying on their belly! A video about improving pistol shooting while standing should have a thumbnail showing a person shooting a pistol while standing. I clicked on it thinking I was going to hear about improving my accuracy while laying prone.

I actually practice breathing looking through the scope with a empty gun, if the cross hairs are moving up and down your not breathing right! I’m Not a expert just a average guy trying to shoot better.
