Well, I too thought you were going to address drawing on dura lar. Your hint to preserve your drawing with dura lar as a drawing shield while still being able to see your work is genius!!! Thank you so much!!!

Lol...I thought you were going to draw with (on) the Dura-Lar, but you used it as I use glassine to protect my art while I'm working. That said...you presented the product very well.

Yeah I think the couple dislikes on this video are from people expecting to learn to draw on the stuff. Glad you like the presentation.

I do have it for drawing on it, using colored pencils, but I use the matte kind. I understand graphite drawings do well on it, too. Your title for the video could be taken for drawing on it; indeed that's what I'd been searching for. You didn't merit any dislikes though.

I use acrylic paint and paint markers on Dualar. It's great if you want to add an extra layer on top of a painting while having some separation from whats underneath

Thanks for the tip. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'm not actually bothered about getting graphite, charcoal, paint and other media on my hands. I'm more concerned about smudging the artwork itself. I'm guessing those sheets are pretty slick, therefore they won't smudge it like your hand would. I'll have a look sometime if I can get these from an art store.

yeah they're great for dry media, paint not so much though. I am planning a video for paints about keeping you hand off the canvas and balanced.

I look forward to it.

Look into making or buying an acrylic bridge.

Is it possible to trace images using Duralar?....with, say, a gel pen or pencil or ballpoint pen? I'm trying to find the most transparent surface for tracing. Seems this product might be the one...perhaps. Thanks for any advice. And thanks for the video info.

It can be really good for that but the super smooth plastic surface means you won't be using pencil or ballpoint on it. A sharpie or other marker absolutely, but not a pencil. Your best bet would likely be tracing paper.

@@cinderblockstudios Okay, thank you for your thoughts on it. I'll try it with sharpies. Okay, peace!

Whats the stuff's original use? I guess tracing stuff, or something of that sort, right?
@cinderblockstudios9 жыл бұрын
+Gumpa2 not sure if it has any main specific use. It can be used as film for tracing with markers (either permanent ones or washable ones). It can also be cut and used in mixed media projects. I've really only ever used it for this though.

You succeed to say nothing useful about this film. If you still pass your hand smudging the drawing, well change work. Drafting is not for you.
