Most tool reviews examine a tool right out of the box. How long will that too last. How good is it made. We never know how long a tool will last. Here are some quick tips for understanding and judging tool reviews.

Very good advice, Tom.More often than not you get what you pay for, especially in super cheap tool.

I thought this would be some BS video, but you ended up suggesting the only youtubers i trust for reviews. you're the man, great suggestions!

Oh man, thanks for (kindly) calling out the “tool bro’s” who are basically paid to push consumerism. Don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely a place for new tool reviews (many I’ve watched too), but there are are so many times I want to see a review from multi-year use or for a tool that’s older than 10 years. Love Chickanic! Will check out the other channels. Nice video and good luck finding the replacement pad for the craftsman.

Always ask the people that fix devices/tools. They're gonna see all the problems the brands may face and will see the trends

I have a 30 year old Ryobi scroll saw. I have used it more days than not. Does it work as good as the high-priced saws... no. Gets the job done...yes. I had a craftsman router that lasted over 20 years. I also have a craftsman miter saw that is almost 30 years old. All of which get used often. I rarely hear nice things about Ryobi or Craftsman. Maybe that is true now, but not 30 years ago.

You're sure the broken one isn't a fixer? I mean, you fix broken stuff all the time. It might be worth a try... Cheers Tom, good advice in this one. Thanks mate.

Funny you say that Mark...After I made the video, I decided to take it apart. I found a loose screw screw inside. Some people say I have a loose screw.(you knew that joke was coming). Seems to work now. As for the Craftsman pad, I am having trouble finding a replacement. I bought one online but it was slightly different so I had to return it.
