Thanks! Since my style relies so much on glazing, I do think it's important to show the detail of how to apply the paint. Appreciate your comment!

A fantastic tutorial! :) I typically struggle a bit with purples as I get lighter, the chalkiness does become a real problem. This has helped a lot, thanks!

Why did the varnish go chalky but?
@TesseractMinis4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Luke, glad you like it! It's just a thing matte varnish can do sometimes if there's underlying moisture in the paint layers, when it goes on. It's my own silly fault for jumping on the varnish too quick. However, as shown, it's fixable!

I'm new to the hobby hope you can explain this to me! In the third step you say "we are gonna use out base purple but as a glaze now" what does that mean? Did you mix the purple with some more water or did you add something to it to make it a glaze? For someone new it sounds like you pull out some magic trick and i have no idea how you accomplish it.
@TesseractMinis4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely - a glaze is a very thinned paint, which you load into the brush very lightly and build up in lots of transparent layers. You can absolutely make a glaze just with paint and water, or you can buy special glaze mediums.

Hey man, how do you paint so your strokes of lighter paint are not visible? When I'm doing steps like 6:07 there are always ugly brighter lines visible from a kilometer on my models, and yours is fully smooth like if it was a drybrushing. What's up with that?
@TesseractMinis8 ай бұрын
It's usually just a thinning issue if you're having this problem. Most likely you need to thin the paint more and apply it in fast, gentle strokes.
@dziku22228 ай бұрын
@@TesseractMinis Thanks for an answer. I always thin my paints, but possibly I do it in a wrong way. I usually mix it with water until it's almost running on the model. I've also tried mixing it up with an airbrush thinner, results are a bit better, but lines are still very clearly visible.
