I just bought it because its the only one that has 3 steppers for the bed not 3 belted crews. That is very exiting since that is really only seen on high end DIY printers like the Voron trident.

Actually core xy printers are almost if not all of them fully assembled. (not talking about Voron)

If you want to run the input shaper again, just hit the button on the calibration menu, there's Z offset, tilt leveling, mesh leveling and input shaping.

When you said you had to make a macro to re-do the input shaping was that in the firmware? I must say that I like that this printer is open source. I'm not a fan of the restrictive and intrusive Bambu ecosystem - I have been waiting for a more flexible equivalent to come out - this one is getting there. Having said that, I can't understand why they would have a restricted UI. I like to make adjustments on the fly through the menu screen - like speed, flow rate, temps etc - is that possible with this screen? I like the linear rails all round add the 3 independant Z axis motors. But 256 cubed is a bit small imo. I hope they bring out a bigger one.

I made a macro to run input calibrate, it can be ran from the console but macro is more user friendly, there just wasn't one by default. A little odd seeing as there was a macro for everything else

​@@RolohaunAnother problem is their screen firmware does not work properly in many cases. For some it has homing problems because it retries to get a proper 3 point bed leveling because does not get proper tolerances compared to using fluidd. I also had some.other problems for example one of my.belts was so loose all prints failed at first. It is my.first 3D printer but I wanted something to tinker with so it is kinda fine.

I really want to know if you can just rip the screen off and drive it with a sonicpad. obviously those still have their own issues, but for the price and the fact can can just slap on debian and full klipper ... this could be a really good project printer. now to find someone who already has both and wants to do some science ... as for why I wouldn't just buy a bambu, I have issues with their business model, the printing workflow, and one of their component vendors.

It looks like with the NBSK discount code, this can be picked up for $439 in the USA. That seems like a fairly good price if you're prepared to tinker with Klipper a bit to get it setup the way you want.

Honestly I want this machine just for the hardware, and I will build all my Klipper configs myself. Create my own macros and configure the printer.cfg myself. This machine is a dream for me.

I agree. flashforge 5M is 299, P1P is almost the same price like this. Its not hard to agree this printer is overpriced. I wonder how is the native klipper work on it?

Enclosure is coming in March. I bought mine for $430 with codes and on sale. My first Klipper printer which I run from my computer with Fluid. There are macros in the Calibration section for all basic cals including resonance. I am going all Kilpper on my other printers and got this to learn and tinker with. The screen is progaramable by SD card. It would be cool if more kilpper experanced guys, like yourself, could make some videos on improving stuuff like screen program and such. This is the ONLY Trident {tri-bed} like printer you can get for the price. Thanks

this printer is mostly open source, though. regular klipper, you can mod stuff, etc. that's why i would personally buy the SK1 instead of a Bambulab.

I see the appeal. Full Klipper, linear rails, z-tilt leveling. $499 US. Same price as P1P but its a econo Trident and you have assurance do whatever you want with it. I do wish it came enclosed.

Just to add one more comment, but I've seen several people mention the K1 in the comments. I have a K1. Its good, but has had plenty of its own issues. Personally, I don't care for the single Z motor so I appreciate TT doing the triple Z leveling. K1 runs its CPU fan all the time. The extruder/hotend was a mess at launch. The beds aren't very level. I replaced mine with a cast alumium from GulfCoast. Its prints are good (not great). The K1 does look very polished though. Nicest looking Creality printer ever in my opinion.

@@stew675 sorry. My bad. Originally wrote $599 but then realized Sk1 was now cheaper. Adjusted price but didn’t change my statement. Either way, and even at original price of $599, the SK1 has a lot of appeal. If it was out when I got my K1, I probably would’ve gotten it.

I'd agree that it's a bit meh overall considering it's competition. For me in the US region, it appears to be about $100 cheaper than a P1P ($499 before shipping) which is why I've come back to look at it a couple of times since it released. Tbh, at this point I'd take a slightly less polished printer to not have to bother with Bambu and their ecosystem even though the P1S with an AMS is compelling. Some of the design choices on the SK1 would make it a little annoying to enclose so that's a bummer. With a good sale, I'd probably jump on the SK1 if I needed another project to tinker with lol.

Hey man, I totally respect your work and everything you do for the community, but I think you got this one way wrong. As I was watching, I was documenting a response to all of your negative comments. No pressure to reply to everything, or even any of them if you dont want to, but I just wanted to put my thoughts out there. Im not sure if you saw my video on the printer, but I absolutely love this product. 1) I did not have any quality assurance issue. My printer was plug and play. Obviously it's a valid point to bring up of you had issues. 2) If I want a Klipper based product, then that is why I would purchase this printer. If someone wants a banbu printer that is fair play, but if someone wants a klipper based product, bambu is not an option. 3) Not everyone needs AMS though I agree no AMS is a negative, but at the moment, no manufacturer other than bambu has an AMS worth its salt, so it's really hard to call that a big negative. Also, this is klipper based, so when a klipper AMS is released, it will be easily configurable. 4) This printer is designed for an enclosure, just like the p1p, it is just not yet released (im not sure why). I was explicitly told an enclosure will be coming. 5) I agree, I dont know why TwoTrees made their own interface. It would have been better with Klipper Screen, but at least this interface feels good to me (I do understand this is a personal opinion). Honestly though, I dont know a single from factory klipper based product that runs klipper screen, so again, it cant really be a negative against them when compared to other similar products. Im working with multiple other klipper based products right now that have even worse screen implementations. For me personally, with klipper, the screen doesnt need to be a full on workstation, it just needs to operate the primary functions easily. If someone wants to do major work, that is what Fluidd is for. I have been using klipper for nearly 2 years and I genuinely havent used the on screen "macro" menu on any of my printers with Klipper Screen. 6) I think your negative discussion about the instruction manual is grasping at straws because the only "good" instruction manual for a printer I have ever seen was a $2,000 Snapmaker. I think anyone buying a "first printer" will (sadly) have issues, regardless of the printer they buy.....except a bambu product, but the bambu manual was arguably worse than the SK1. You mention stuff like setting up Orca or superslicer and to me that might be you being a little jaded. I dont think a new user should be using a more advanced slicer. I think they need to stick with what's common - Prusa and Cura. And the USB has instructions for both of those. 7) Price wise, I cant really argue with that. I think it would be better at $499, but I also get stuck because there isnt another comparable fully unlock from factory prebuilt klipper product, so I think they can command $599 (at least for now....supply and demand)

I know people are buying them but maybe not SUPER fast. I think few influencers got them and made content on it, so that affected their sales numbers. Also, videos like this one will hurt. He is obviously very allowed to share his truthful opinion, which is highly respected, but it will definitely affect sales numbers.

I can see where your coming from and I know not everyone will share the same opinion. 2) I think the Creality K1 or even Kingroon KLP1 is a better klipper printer although the frame is this is better I think 3) AMS is a extra for sure but I want to make sure people consider the addon down the road, I know some klipper based DIY things are coming and yes that will be a game changer 4) Ya would be nice if they have pricing and info on the site 6) I have to disagree with this the Kingroon KLP1 has a massively better manual and even onedrive downloads for slicer profiles. Two Trees can learn a lot from them. 7) For me the K1 is the same price and not fully unlocked Klipper with mods

​@@Rolohaun Of course, Im glad to see a reply :) I will admit I was offered a KLP1 but had to decline it, so I have not tested it. It did get great reviews though. I think an AMS is VERY important for me. I use mine for the same reason you do. To me, changing filaments is way more beneficial than printing in multiple colors. I have spoken with quite a few creators in the 3D printing space regarding cost of equipment, printers, etc. and I keep feeling like the price of products is often forgotten because we test units for free (I'm not saying you are, just in general). I have a guy in my discord that is using a 10 year old printers and looking to buy new, but he has a MAX $250 USD budget. That wont even cover the cost of a single AMS, let alone the cost of the p1p. But yes, I agree the AMS is a very great product and something to consider if theyre in the market for a new printer. I will begin to consider no AMS as a negative when more manufacturers release an AMS. And the K1 is amazing. I love it. It looks great and does perform reliably, but for me personally, the performance wasnt as good as the SK1, the klipper config felt less developed/more sloppy, it doesnt use the bambu cloned hot end, etc... The K1 also cant really be upgraded if the desire is ever there. At the end of the day, as you said, we're all allowed to have our own opinions and that's why so many manufacturers are performing well in the 3d space :D

At that price not realistic when a Creality K1 with camera, extra nozzles, enclosed and delivered is 800 $CDN. OEM Klipper source code available and lots of community support. Rooted mine after 3 days and very pleased.

As an owner of TwoTreesBLU-5, I can confirm that all of TT printers are mate of thick steel, usually well built (I'm also part of community of BLU and Sapphire printers) and most of their printers require fine tuning. Poorly documented, poor firmware support, but if you are willing to spend time tightening belts, aligning rollers, etc., you may get printer that works better than most Chinese printers from the same price range. Fans are also an issue on all BLU printers, so TT are consistent :)

I looked hard at this also. I bought a TT sapphire plus awhile ago and used it to make my "SP-5impleOne" because for the price it was more economical to do that than build from scratch for 300X300 COREXY. While this SK1 does have some nice upgrades over the SP-5 I just cant justify the price as to me it's still just a decent frame to use to build a better machine. For the $500 price I'd rather get a Qidi X plus 3(on sale for $630 right now). If the SK1 was either larger, $400, or came with enclosure panels I'd probably consider it a better deal, because if I bought an SK1 at $500 and did what I deem necessary to it I'd probably have $700 into it.

Try adding a camera, nope. The noise for the always running fans on the controller is unbelievable, between lack of Armbian updates, no camera, no HDMI video, and the heat the controller it is being changed to fix all the existing issues and truly open the box. It's not open when you can't apt upgrade.

Not sure what to think about it. Anti backlash nuts are fine, but please put them on the correct way, the screen interface doesn't look attractive nor is it very informative. Missing macros. Always on fans, even though the electronics would be capable of controlling the fans, it uses mks electronics to my knowledge. The biggest selling point is that it has 3 independent z axis, which isn't currently on the market. Otherwise it looks to me unfinished. How are the standoffs for the idlers on the gantry? To my knowledge they are cantilevered, are the deforming under the belt tension? Teethed idlers or all smooth idlers?

@@Rolohaun i had once a twotrees sapphire, it seems that twotrees stays with there design ethos. Also had cantilevered idlers, but used also teethed idlers. Fcker was sturdier than most diy core xy, but suffered massive vfas, the used steppers had very distinct steps when turning by hand, that transfered into the print sadly

Ive seen pop up in the comments that this is for people who want a base to tinker with, and I just don't get this market. Why inherit someone else's problems over something like a Vezbot, Rook, Voron etc? If the point is making the 3d printer the hobby, this is like the worst middle ground of never really being able to claim ownership over your system and having a substandard experience.

Yeah I’ve had mine for awhile it had a bad extruder and not so great hotend and I’ve replaced both and the extruder is a custom one that’s printed out and is spring loaded and it’s been a beast of a printer I’ve printed pla, abs, and tpu with no problems I did through a Ender 3 textured pei bed on it and I like it a lot more than the smooth one and replaced the side fan with a Nevermore filter and will eventually make a duct so you can choose between a blower or the filter but overall it’s been a great printer and I recommend it to a lot of people (tho the app stuff is terrible and I haven’t used it at all)

@@Rolohaun The company at present that's closest IMO is Qidi. It's still open source Klipper (you can build and install from the source code they've published), but it's a streamlined version of the mainline upstream Klipper branch. You can't use mainline Klipper though due to some differences, but you can still pull in mainline Klipper modules and compile them up yourself. They've modified the UI for the touchscreen to give you the basic necessary macros for input shaping, bed levelling, filament loading, unloading, etc. For anything more advanced you can use the Fluidd UI. You're still able to tinker and add macros to the Fluidd UI of course. You can even ssh into the mainboard and fiddle with it at the core level. I'll admit that it's not perfect, but there's nothing really stopping you from doing what you want. The other two manufacturers doing full blown Klipper are the Kingroon KLP1, and the Flying Bear Reborn 2 printers, but for both of them some of the hardware choice is arguably what lets them down.
