As far as designing a hole printer for the IDEX, you could just design some mounting brackets to adapt it to something like your simple core frame. Just a quick idea would be like some corner braces large enough to have the bolt pattern for MIDEX's parts.

Totally agree with the Magnetic-IDEX thinking, as this was my plan, and because I find the build volume too restrictive I was going to apply Dmitry’s thinking to one of my redundant 3D printers. It’s definitely worth building Dmitry’s upgrades, as it definitely performs very well in his videos, runs Klipper and definitely scalable.

@Rolohaun10 күн бұрын
there are a few youtube videos on converting that, the board documentation is not great for that board. Mostly though you just choose the process and that's it to flash klipper

@mikecrane278210 күн бұрын
The key to this design is the lightweight toolhead and CPAP is part of this, but most of us know that CPAP part cooling is hard to regulate, and yes medical devices have VPAP and BiPAB, but Dmitry has made a stepper motor valve system that has quite a bit of potential, and it’s definitely better than a flap diverted valve. He did manage to flash the stock board to run Klipper too, at least for the FFCP.

I love the small Delta printers. I saw the Delta mini by monoprice version 2. Course they were sold out and there’s a fake company on Amazon that claims to sell it but it’s not worth a flip, but I didn’t manage to get my hands on about four or five old units and bought a whole bunch of them for a good price and built me three out of that Just love to watch those things they’re fascinating. They work great when you got them working.

@ which version there seems to be many made, but unable to find the correct one in the US. The company is clearing these out this week for a terribly low price and I love watching these, but I’d like for it to be somewhat functional what I’m sure it will be on the box so it may be a waste of time but it does make sense to do the upgrade if you did. I’m just hunting something to tinker with till the K2 max gets here. I’ve got a spring free printer in my bedroom so I can watch them during the night if I’m having trouble sleeping one of these Delta machines can put me to sleep in 20 minutes..

I'm thrilled to see you're working on the Magnetic IDEX project! I appreciate your enthusiasm for redesigning, but I would really encourage you to try the original design first to see how it performs. For instance, the CPAP blower is a crucial part of the system; it not only replaces four fans but also integrates cooling for both toolheads and the extruder motors, ensuring they run cool even within a fully enclosed environment. This integration leads to a more streamlined and efficient setup. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

@@Rolohaun so do I and I’ve been following Dmitry for a few years, but treating a M-idex as a two temperature tool head arrangement and if one of those toolheads had a filament system, it’d do multiple-colour, interface layer support and two material prints and cover a lot of use cases for most people, and would be reasonably cost effective too.

idk if it's viable but if this could be made into direct drive with orbiter or Picolino extruder - this could become even smaller! Or, if we somehow put spool horizontally above this printer we could be having the ultimate desk corner beast! That could even doubles as weight to reduce vibration without creating too much CoM shift. I never got this much daydreaming looking at vorons so I didn't try DIY yet - but this - I really wanna make this as my first ever DIY printer and experiment with it so much. gotta save some money for this beauty... Is there any upcoming updates on this or is design in frozen state? (excl. update that was half year ago)
