My daughter (who's five) and I watch your videos so often. She's got curly hair and I've got straight. So it's a learning curve for me. We're having fun for now. Wondering what we'll do once school starts. What hairstyles (neat!) will not cause stress and damage to her curls.

Videos such as yours are very liberating to someone as me with type 2 b/c wavy curls. I am still struggling and barely learning how to improve my curl texture with the techniques described and demonstrated. I realize now that my hair has the exact potential as yours, beautiful by the way, and we have the same length and thickness. I'm so glad I can relate. Thank you. For decades, I was told to just cut it, or fight it, or that I was flawed. This is so untrue. Your hair type and style is my goals. I only lack the energy due to health issues that limit my mobility, but I have definitely learned something. I'll try to get there. Thanks again for giving me the encouragement and validation, to enjoy long, curly/wavy "mermaid" hair.💜

@@MichelleManuel it's okay, thank you so much❤️ I do struggle due to Fibromyalgia pain, and other pain issues, but I'm so glad I found your channel. I am so grateful to learn more from someone who has practically identical type hair as me. It's ash bronze-light brown though, but approximately the same length, layer, plus thickness. I already use a curl styling cream, and a t-shirt, although I need to invest in a better larger one, possibly a microfiber towel. I'm figuring out that misting water is a curly wavy girl's best friend for refreshing! I also recently switched to Maui moisture shampoo and conditioner for thick curly hair, as it's free of all the bad stuff. And my hair gets really dry on the ends. I only recently learned how to brush it correctly. I didn't know that I could brush or comb through it starting at the bottom first. I wasn't taught that. But now, I don't have to fight tangles anymore! They were never really there LOL I'm actually 40 now. But better late than never. I'm young at heart too. I'm looking forward to getting the hair of my dreams one step at a time now. 💕 Have a wonderful weekend! 🏝️

This.. Is Gold 🌟 I think I'm sold on the upside down leave in plus mousse! For my needs and time. Edit : A lil doubt.. Gel appears obviously better in terms of definition and hold.. hence humidity resistance as well? was wondering if mousse should be decent enough for humid conditions? if not as good as the gel.

You'd think that gel would give you harder results and mousse would give you softer results but that's not entirely true. With mousse you'll have stiffer feeling results with a bit more functional frizz.

Hey, loving ur videos so far.. have a question, I’ve recently bought two curling creams; kayos hair cream and curlup.. do u reckon I can use it instead of leave ins and have u used these products, any feedback?… thanks :)
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Neha. So a leave in conditioner's job is to moisturise. A curl cream's job is also to moisturise. The differences is that a curl cream is usually heavier than a leave in conditioner and may also provide hold (ie work as a styler) I've used the curl up cream. Haven't used the one by kayos yet. I have a video on how to pick a leave in conditioner which I think you may want to watch in order to understand how to choose a product.

@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
Hey Raisha. I have hard water too. I can't use filtered water either. I only use filtered water when I refresh because it's just a tiny bit of water. I've seen some plastic filters (that you put over your shower head and taps) but I can't comment on how effective they are. I would suggest clarifying and chelating to remove hard water buildup once every month. That's all I am able to do myself to help the situation.

My hair is wavy naturally after wash and becomes straight after 2 or 3 days. I really wanted to ask you if these products cause harm to hair in long term and what should be the safe frequency to use these. And thanks for tips, your hair is literally my dream.
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
Before i started cgm, the day i washed my hair, it looked wavy and frizzy/fluffy. It had lots of static in it and looked like a fluff ball. After a day or two my hair used to become relatively straight with a few waves in it. The shorter my hair was the straighter it was. Tell me something, are these your accounts/experiences because you have not started cgm yet? If so, it makes sense and sounds familiar. I would suggest attempting a styling routine. If this is the case and you've already started cg, then maybe you need some more washdays to curl train. About CGM, you're boycotting sulphates silicones and parabens. The products are safer than others in the market. So far I have only seen my hair improve. With regard to long terms damage, I'm just about reaching the 2 year mark. I don't know if that's enough time for me to report long term issues. Check your ingredient list always. Allergic reactions to a particular ingredient is a risk you run with every single product. Be it haircare or skincare.
@chaotic_passionate2 жыл бұрын
@@MichelleManuel yeah, I totally relate with these, and I haven’t started cgm yet out of fear. But I want to. I just wanted to ask is it okay if I start just with leave in conditioner. I have already been doing scrunching and other methods you suggested in your videos but without products.

Calcutta is very humid but it's no match for Mumbai's humidity. The best advice I can give you is to keep your hair in protective hairstyles. When you style use hard hold gels. Is it necessary to put leave in conditioner? I have low porosity hair and I don't think my hair will be able to take so much🥲
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
Some low porosity hair does not like leave in conditioner. But if you're using the enliven mousse it's a little drying so i would suggest finding a different hair foam or mousse which has moisturising ingredients. You can check my Amazon storefront for more options.

Should leave in conditioners be used by low porosity hair people?
@MichelleManuel Жыл бұрын
Some low porosity people can do with just a moisturising gel as well. Some prefer leave ins. Totally depends on both your porosity and curl type and how much moisture your hair needs.

Is this only for wash day or for all days in between??
@MichelleManuel Жыл бұрын
Only washday. Since it is minimal it's best suited to people who wash multiple times a week.

Can we apply leave in on the scalp or it's only for the length. I am 2c3a.
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
Only the lengths please. Avoid the first 1.5 inches near the scalp.

Hi Michelle! I am from Kolkata, have just started CGM , I find it very difficult to retain the curl on 2nd day even , so I have to refresh my hair everyday , and often it lead to shampoo thrice a week, I am facing hair thinning also, I am about to start using satin pillow cover (after waching all the CG youtubers) , can you suggest a leave in conditioner and gel to start with , I think I should try 1 by 1 , so I am not changing my existing shampoo and conditioner, can you help ?

Fix my curls has a hair mousse. I haven't tried it but I've heard good things. (It's expensive though) I'm waiting for the restock as well. It happens often. If you want something in the 350 rs range then wait for a bit. I'll post an update on the restock on my stories if it helps.

I have a really busy life and I have type 2b curls...It's very dry and frizzy..I am confused should I go for permanent straightening to make it more manageable or follow cgm
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
You'll need to consider the maintenance and damage that comes with permanent procedures.

How to tame those frizz with extreme fly on crown area.. for 2B low porosity. The hair looks so unmanageable frizzy overall specially in crown area & dry rough specially on ends.

Hi Michelle, I am currently 3 months into CGM. I am facing severe hair loss. Huge bunches of hair each time i touch my hair, even on the non-wash days. So much that I had medium density hair, now the hair density is too low. I am using mom & co shampoo and conditioner with best life styling cream and gel and shirolepum mask. I wash my hair twice a week (shampoo +conditioner), and apply mask once in 2 weeks. I normally just do praying hands + scrunch and air dry. And since i have dandruff, I used plum tea tree anti- dandruff serum. Not daily, maybe once a week or so. This hair loss has been more since last month. Please suggest what could be going wrong. Is it the products or my technique? I bought a bonnet, even with it i see hair loss
