Awesome video, what if your a trucking company and you have owner operators who are leased on to you, they do line hauls for you you enter those hauls under bills would that go under a expense or item entry??

When we make multiple ACH payments to our vendors, our bank processes the payment as a batch and groups them in a combined amount on our statement. With this, how can I enter multiple vendor bill payments combined together so enters as a batch amount on the check register and also matches our bank statement?

Well you can enter the balance when you set up the account as an Opening Balance or you can enter all the charges. I would enter the interest rate in the name of the account if you want to track the rate on each card

Is there a way to put same check no. on multiple pays? Copy-paste takes time when you need to put same no. on couple hundred bills.

If the payment is multiple bills to same vendor you should not have to worry about that. When you use the Pay Bills function it’ll consolidate them all to one check.

So if a payment of a bill that has not been entered in the Enter Bill section comes in as a Bank or Credit Card transaction download, do I just enter the remaining information in the register, or do I create the bill, pay it and then finish reconciliation? How is reporting impacted one way vs the other?

Tim Baker if you download and enter directly in the register then your accrual basis financials would not be correct. By entering the bill with the time period the expense is incurred, then paying the bill with the downloaded payment will ensure the accrual basis financials are correct

@@QbuniversityOrg So the only item impacted is the A/P reporting? For example, I download a utility charge into my checking. If I complete the transaction in the bank register, the only thing I have missed is recognizing the payment due in A/P prior to the actual download, or does it impact vendor reports or job costing reports because I did not use the Bill function. On the Invoice and Sales Receipt side, I know this would mess up income reporting, but I was not certain about the Billing and Expense side.

@@timbaker6108 yes it would because let's say the date of the bill was 5/31/ When you enter the bill, you enter the bill date as 5/31. On accrual reports, this would show up as an expense in your reports for May. If you download it in June, and don't enter the bill with a May bill date, then under accrual and cash basis it shows up as an expense in June, technically putting the expense in the wrong time period

@@timbaker6108 It's really going to be any report that would report expenses on an accrual basis. If you report everything on a cash basis you would be fine

How do I do partial payment with credit?

Simply change the payment method to credit card and choose the card, then highlight the bill to pay, and change the amount of the payment to match what you are paying. Then you can pay the rest however you want!
