QUICKEST DIESEL CAR IN POLAND - 1.9TDI 4 MOTION Mk1 VW GOLF

Daniel Mrzyglod was over from Poland to compete in the 4cyl Class at the Doorslammers event at Santa Pod Raceway. His car is a Mk1 VW Golf with 4motion and a 1.9TDI engine with a Garrett GTX Turbo, pushing out approx. 700Hp and 950 NM. His PB is 9.42 @ 145mph.
At Santa Pod he put in several mid 9 second runs, with a best of 9.54 @ 143mph. I don't think there is a quicker diesel car in Poland, and only maybe 2 quicker in Europe.

the torque is so low. normally with 700hp it should be like 1200nm or at least 1100nm

Because they use high RPM, they're not limited to 3-5000rpm like bigger diesels

@@superjesus4307oh thanks for the information. but it looks scary to rev that engine to such RPM. i know it is strong but it doesn't make sense for me

@@oussama4629 RPM doesn't matter, piston speed does. Bigger diesels have longer stroke, 5000rpm to them is a LOT more inertial mass for the rods to accelerate than a small TDI.

I'm not sure what the answer is for big power diesel cars to reduce the smoke. I think some of them run NOS as well which might help

@@MrBigR928 Better tuning. Smoke is wasted power, excess heat and very bad for the rest of us that love diesels and want them to be in every car.

@@superjesus4307 Not true, the boost levels are so high on those diesels, the big horsepower diesels need the excess fuel because otherwise the pistons would get far to hot and melt. All this unburned fuel is just to cool the cillinders and the pistons enough not to melt.
