I cannot believe that you are actually making this tutorial video for world creator 3. It is a powerful tool but very few tutorials were posted so far. The filter layer-based system might need some documentation to better explain what each parameter would do. To those who are following Martin's blender 3D environment course, I do feel WC3 is not as instinctive as the blender node system, but the terrain is way more realistic. If someone is still a student like me, the WC team does have a student promotion at around $6/mo, which is reasonably affordable.

Hey Martin, recently purchased your course on Environments for Blender and it's brilliant! Helps me to understand the logic of building worlds and scenes much better than any YT vid ever could. Currently on the World Builder part, hence why I'm checking this tutorial series out as well :) One thing I have noticed though is that a chapter on creating specifically a volcano is still missing. While I realise that it's similar to regular mounts or craters let's say, I feel it still includes different enough elements like the lava itself to warrant its own chapter or maybe a sub chapter? Idk, just a thought I had. Keep up the fantastic work!

Great tutorial! Do you only prepare your landscapes using WC and continue with Blender? Have you tried to render inside WC with realy good results? Sometimes I need some quick scene backgrounds and thought WC will be a good option.

Hi, you need to subscribe to a MapTiler service, get a token from their site, paste it to WC settings and then, in the same Global menu where you shape your terrain, you have MapTiler section where you just zoom to a world map…

Once I learn it properly 😁 Though I wouldnt call it free, since that version limits your terrains to 1k res. Which is not enough :) But its a great tool as well!

I have a Radeon RX 5600 XT. Can work without a problem in every 3d software, handle tens of millions of polygons, I can play cyberpunk 2077 almost at max (except 4k and all that), but world creator crashes each time. Wtf
