absolutely beautiful. no matter what you quilt. I still have not got the nerve to try on a quilt. I am 71 and love piecing my prayer quilts but so far I haven't tried free motion on any of my quilts. I seem to get butterflies in my stomach and I will end up just using my evenfoot to quilt around each triangle and just quilt straight lines.

I just had a person like you in my last quilting class! Lovely lady, about your age, pefect at sewing and afraid of quilting. List of questions: What are you afraid of?, making mistakes? What I see is a woman that feels young enough to try new things and making mistakes is part of the process. Mistakes are good for us. They teach us understanding of our own person and others. Quilting is good for our minds and souls. And I have a trick for you. There are threads that solve in water. Use it in bobbin and quilt. If you don't like it, wash it :) Besides that use your "ugly fabrics" or make pot holders....they are getting used and damaged very fast. Keeping my fingers crossed! ❤❤❤

@@quiltingnerd thank you so very much for your encouraging words to me. I promise I’m going to do a square at a time. My quilting is all I have to keep me busy and I want to do more than just straight stitches on my quilts. God bless you

@@katherineshort7103 Go for it. You are such wonderful generous person. And you have tons of creativity in you. Not everything is about being perfect. But many things are about learning and exploring! Keep me posted!

thaey say that a person is harder on themselves when making things on how it looks. thats my problem I know my straight stitching is good but I am real citical on my sewing, I always want it to look good and I think thats why I am so critical on my work. I will start doing small blocks and practice more on the free motion quilting. Thank you again.

Just so lovely! I have a question: Do you quilt to TBE music on the video or add the music after? So very relaxing. Thank you
@quiltingnerd2 ай бұрын
I love quilting with music. I have a blutooth headphones and my selection of instrumental music. It relaxes me and slows me down. The music I add to videos is YT music I can use. It has similar character.

Thank you for your comment! I used 6 inch squares, so, at the end I had 11.5. It is a good size for a fast quilt, and large enough for quilting diferent patterns. ❤❤❤

@@annmargaret1639 Glad to help. If you are a beginner (welcome to the club, by the way) just start with larger pieces of fabrics. Doodling is a good transition to quilting, just to get the feel.
